Chapter 298 - Chapter 298 : Voldemort 2

Voldemort really wasn't planning on killing the boy, but it was clear that this boy had to die. Even if he took him under his wing today, he would still end up killing the boy sooner or later when he couldn't tolerate him anymore.

So he let go of the idea of bringing the boy under him. As powerful as he might be, the fact that he wasn't completely loyal could bring him trouble sooner or later.

"What… you done? That's it?" Again, the infuriating boy said, breaking Voldemort's calm demeanor. Finally, Voldemort couldn't take it anymore and aimed at the boy again.

"Avada Kedavra!" Voldemort shouted, casting the killing curse at Orion. Orion didn't even bother blocking this time; he simply dodged the attack with his speed while making sure to keep Rose away from the conflict.

"It was almost strange how Rose wasn't claiming to help him right now and did what she was supposed to do. But that was good; this way, he didn't have to convince Rose not to interfere in the fight. He wanted to have some fun and let loose a little after being trapped in that room, doing research.

He certainly could handle it, but it wasn't fun. It was like playing a game while also having to listen to what your parents or girlfriend had to say because they decided to intervene in your gaming session because they don't care.

Sigh.

Dodging the attack, he slowly swung his wand and sent a powerful force blast at Voldemort.

To his surprise, Voldemort was able not only to see the invisible magical attack but also to dodge it. Honestly, that was the most interesting thing to Orion.

Usually, wizards don't give much importance to their bodies. After all, why would anyone hit the gym if all it took was one spell to do most of the heavy lifting they would ever need? Moreover, magic itself doesn't let their bodies degrade over time even if they don't train much.

So seeing Voldemort being fast enough to dodge one of his attacks was a little surprising, but not too much.

'Well, it seems like he doesn't look like an alien for nothing. There is some upside to this. His physical body being strong and fast is one of them,' Orion pondered as he saw Voldemort swinging his wand again.

Though he didn't say what spell he was using, Orion could tell it was Bombarda by the magical fluctuation. He hardly used those spells anymore, as most of his life he had used magic more with his mind, using intent to direct the magic. But being around others, he had seen this magic so many times that he could now tell what it was by how it felt and was cast.

He quickly saw where the attack was targeted and swung his own wand. He was new to using a wand, but his body and super-fast nerve reaction were enough to handle the small difference that made.

Even before the attack came, he bisected the blasting curse midway and then pointed his wand at Voldemort, ready to send another powerful blast at him.

"Diffindo!"

The cutting curse went directly at Voldemort. He could sense that this time the power output was just right. Using a wand indeed made these simple spells better.

Not that now they were more controlled. His Diffindo was still Diffindo and not a slash from Sukuna.

Voldemort, just like Orion, intercepted the attack midway and then pointed at a grave near him. Orion saw the grave being dug out of the ground, turning into a spear, and shooting right at him with immense speed.

Orion frowned a little. Though it was a cool attack, using someone's grave like this…

He used his left hand, without using any magic, and grabbed the spear mid-air, making not only Voldemort but also others look at him with astonished eyes.

'This monster,' Nick muttered under his breath. He knew that Orion was very strong physically, but this was something else entirely. Even a dragon would have been impaled by that spear, and this boy caught it like it was a volleyball.

"I understand everything is fair in love and war, but I still prefer if we don't desecrate someone's grave if possible," Orion replied as he twisted his body and magically enforced it, making himself stronger and then wrapping his magic around the spear.

Voldemort had a very bad feeling right now. Before he could do anything, Orion threw the same spear with so much power that it almost broke the sound barrier and hurled right at Voldemort.

There was no way Voldemort could dodge this by just sidestepping, so he quickly, with lightning reflexes, turned his wand at the incoming spear and cast a spell. The next second, just before the spear was about to turn him into barbecue, it turned into ashes and vanished, creating a smoke screen that made it hard to spot Voldemort.

Orion clicked his tongue after seeing this. Now he had to make another grave for that poor man or woman, or whoever was buried there.

As he kept staring at the smoke screen, he saw something changing inside it. It was not ashes but gunpowder that started to burn and turn into fire.

'Fienfry,' Orion thought, recognizing the fire. His own Protego Diabolical was very similar to this. Grindelwald based that spell on this spell, after all.
