Orion stepped out of the mansion, dazed and disoriented, cradling the small, sleeping child Elenora had left behind, most likely this child was he himself, just how crazy that sounds, right !
The world around him seemed strange, unfamiliar. He wasn't sure where he was, or even where he would go. He could try opening a portal but refrain from it, rather than just mindlessly trying to go back from where he come from, he should first learn what was going on.
In his other hand, he held the letter Elenora had left for him, well originally this was for Credence but whatever, this was her final words. He hesitated, there were actually two of this letters, one give him to which was originally intented for Credence and another one is inside this pendant she gave him, this was intended for the baby when he grow up.
'Does that mean that its for me ?' he had no idea honestly.
Her handwriting was there, clear and familiar, and he took a deep breath before he began reading.
He felt his pulse quicken as he read her words, each line raising more questions than it answered. Elenora explained that she'd always been hunted, pursued by vampires since she could remember.
But there was no reason why she was hunted or her child would be haunted.
They'd been relentless, she wrote, tracking her across the globe and throughout the Time.
'Again with time, what is it that she is hiding ? what with all this secrecy ?'
She didn't explain why, only that something about her made her a target in their eyes. However, Orion with his own experience knew now that he himself was surely effected by this problem. Vampires just seems to draw near him like he was their month worth of salary...
He would love to know why those fuckers are after him like he stole their ability to reproduce.
As Orion continued reading, he felt a pang of frustration and helplessness. Nothing she mention here really provide him with any worthwhile information. There was just nothing in here.
Elenora described the birth of her child, how his birth was the reason why all this happen. Everything revolve around him and the child was the key to finally end the recurring fight.
'Fight ?...
She said the child was destined for something big... but at the same time was destine to die young ?
'Does that even make any sense ?' and of course she didn't explain why. Was it a curse? Some kind of prophecy? There was no answer—only an ominous sense of inevitability in her words.
The letter took an even stranger turn when she wrote about her decision to send her child to the future. She hinted that it was essential to "correct the timeline," but she gave no details about what was wrong with the present, or why the future would be any safer.
By this time Orion wasn't even shock anymore. Life throw one curve ball towards him after another.
'Future... so this is how it happened ?
But how ? how can she just casually send someone in present, her magic was weak to be begin with...
Maybe she use her life force....' Orion was pondering hard, many thing was running in his mind and the only thing he could think was that she alway intent to send the the child and his father into the future at the cost of her own life. Of course there was also that crazy magic draw from him as well back there...
Of course, things didn't went as plan, credence own life isn't much left, so she had to send someone else.
Only now that Orion realized why there was so much remorse in her voice. Anyone would be angry to boarder line hate the person who send them in future without their consent.
Family, Career, Love, Dream... that person would lose everything upon this happening.
Orion sighed, his headache was coming back all of the sudden.
'Send to Future...how ? Law is powerful but can it really send someone in future, Merlin had the same law and he didn't tell me about it ?'
All she left were vague words, fragmented thoughts that left Orion grasping at shadows, unsure of the reason for her actions.
Alone those words doens't make any sense, but when Orion put his own life experience into the mix, things just start clearing up.
It was as if she'd only shared enough to keep him curious, but not enough to give him any real answers.
As he finished reading, he looked down at the child, now awake and staring up at him with wide, innocent eyes. The baby was quiet, unaware of the complex web of secrets and struggles surrounding its life. Orion clenched his jaw, feeling an overwhelming frustration. He had been hoping Elenora's letter would hold the key to everything—answers that would help him understand her past, her struggles, and the threat that loomed over her life. But instead, it only deepened the mystery, leaving him lost in questions he didn't know how to solve.
There was nothing in the letter about Elenora's origins, nothing about her history or where she came from. She hadn't revealed anything about her own fate, her life, or what forced her to keep moving, forever hiding in the shadows.
He let out a slow breath, feeling a bitter ache settle within him. But one thing was clear: Elenora had trusted him with her child, despite all the unknowns. And he couldn't let her down. He folded the letter carefully, tucking it away, and once again look at the baby who was lying at the ground, now awake and staring at him.
He didn't say anything, just like the baby, he was too looking at the him with curiosity.
And then suddenly something just click inside his head. His eyes widen and breath quicken.
He quickly look at he pendant which Elenora gave him with very very serious look.
"Merlin, he should be in there right. Though the old man never explain where he was all this time but there should be a connection between this pendant.
Though it won't be the Merlin I knew, but he is still Merlin. He can certainly help me here...right !' His mind was racing...
