Finally, I resumed back to work at the Georgian company. Everything was looking so new to me, because I haven't worked in that particular branch before.
I missed Manchester, because that was where I started my life afresh.
I missed all the workers back there, especially my former personal assistant Sandra.
She was like a family to me, and I never saw her as just my subject but like a blood sister.
**At my new office**
I was seated on a chair inside my new office, looking round the environment. The office was larger than my former office at Manchester. It was more comfortable and the inner decorations were beautiful.
While I was enjoying my company, I got interrupted by a knock at the door.
I requested the person to come in, and as the door knob got twisted, I fixed my eyes at the door to see who it was.
"Good morning ma'am." A deep voice said from the background.
"Good morning." I greeted back, fixing my eyes on the figure before me.
He grabbed a seat, facing my table. I looked at him confusedly, wondering who he was. I suspected that might be a worker at the company too.
"I guess you know who I'm already." He said confidently.
"Unluckily I don't."I responded back at him.
"I'm Ryan Howell. The chief director of the accounting sector." He explained his identity to me.
"Oh,you must be the Ryan the manager talked about." I said to him, bringing forth my hand for a handshake.
Ryan shook my hand, smiling broadly at me. He looked like a young guy in his late twenties. He appeared to be a jovial person.
I already liked his personality and he reminded me of my cousin.
"You're our new director too right?". He asked me, while I nodded my head with a smile.
"If you don't mind, I'll volunteer to show you round the company." He insisted.
I forced out a smile, standing up. I ordered him to show me round, since I was new to the place. We had some friendly conversation, while we walked round the company together. We entered every sectors of the company and I got to know most of the workers.
"The company is larger than the one at Manchester." I said to him.
"Oh really?. I want to go the united kingdom one day." He said to me.
"Why?". I asked inquisitively.
"It has always been my dream country." He replied.
I smiled at his reply, putting my hands at my back. I was still looking around, getting used to the company. While we were still discussing, an elderly lady on corporate dress approached us.
"Good morning ma'am." Ryan greeted her by bowing his head at her.
"Good morning." I greeted her, wondering who she is.
"Are you the director?". She asked me.
I nodded my head, while Ryan decided to finally leave us. She requested that we head over to the company's cafeteria and discuss over a breakfast.
I was still wondering who she was, and the role she played at the company.
"So tell me, who are you?". I asked her curiously.
"I'm George's aunt. My name is Yolanda." She revealed to me.
I was very surprised by her reply and I couldn't stop staring at her. She must be loved by George a lot, to work in his company too. She looked so beautiful, despite her age.
"Oh wow. You look so gorgeous ma'am." I praised her respectfully.
"I have something to discuss with you." She said, grabbing my hands.
I looked at her confusedly, wondering what she was going to say this time. She took in a deep breath before saying another word.
"I like you alot dear. Ever since George lost his parents when he was a kid, I have been his only family." She said to me.
"Do you mean to say that George is an orphan?". I asked her, surprised to hear that.
She nodded her head, switching into a sad mood. It seems like there was a very bad story behind his parents death. I was curious to know more about George.
"He was left in this cold world with his only sibling, when she was just three months old." She said.
"That's so sad. He must have been through a lot during his childhood." I said to her, sympathizing with her.
"Of course. He's the bravest son anyone can ask for and that's the reason I pushed my son Ben, to get closer to his cousin." She said.
It was at that time that I realized that I was speaking to Ben's biological mother. Ben was George's cousin that manages his company at Manchester. It was a nice move from Mrs Yolanda. George seemed to be an inspiration to everyone in his family. I was also lucky enough to know him through Jasmine.
"Ben is a good son. He's giving his all to George's company." I praised her son infront of her.
"I really feel happy to hear this. All I want is for my lovely nephew to get married soon and build his own family." She said to me.
I slowly pulled away my hands from her clench, while she looked at me with sad eyes. I seriously didn't understand her last comments and I didn't know what I have to do with it.
"What do you mean Aunt Yolanda?". I asked her.
"George had a lot of good things to say about you the last time he visited me here." She said to me.
Luckily for me, I escaped that conversation by the sudden ringing of my cell phone that was lying inside my purse. My purse was vibrating and that was a sign for me to know that my phone was ringing.
"I'll take this call immediately." I said to her, standing up from the chair.
"Alright go ahead." She replied with a smile.
I stood up from my chair, heading outside of the cafeteria. It was my mum on the phone. I was waiting for her to inform me about the reason she called urgently.
"Hello mum." I said.
"Bianca, sorry I called you so urgently." She apologized.
"Is it a wrong dial or?".I asked her exhaustedly.
"Not at all. I wanted to ask if you went to work with the pancakes I prepared specially for you." She said to me.
I laughed at her reply, wondering to myself if I was still a little child. Mum still treats me like her ten years old daughter. She didn't want to overgrow that behavior at all. I slowly scrated my forehead, chuckling over the phone.
"Mum I did. I packaged them into my lunch box." I said to her.
"Stop teasing me. You know that I still see you as my little girl. I'll go off now." She shunned me, cutting the call.
I shook my head, heading back to my office. I didn't want to return back to the cafeteria, because I was avoiding some certain conversation with her.
She was trying to trap me into talking about George's marital status.
.............
On the other hand was Zoey and the Kurtz. She had already packed up her bags, alongside with Sebastian.
They saw the Kurtz off at a bus stand, before heading over to an airport to catch up with their flight.
They got at the airport at roughly thirty minutes. Sebastian bought some packaged snacks for the both of them, while they waited for their flight to arrive.
"I know it's not easy for you at all. I'm sorry for everything." Sebastian said to her.
"You didn't wrong me dad. I should be apologizing instead, for being the bane of all the problems in your life and that of mum's." Zoey said to him sadly.
Sebastian hugged her tightly, cuddling her in his arms. She let those stubborn tears out of her eyes, as they rolled down her cheeks freely.
Their flight arrived in few minutes and Sebastian helped her in wiping off those tears.
He carried their luggages, heading over to the airplane, while she followed him behind. She called her friends over a video call, informing them that she was finally off. She waved her last good bye at them, before ending the call.
Both of them entered inside the plane, enjoying their flight to new York, by watching some movies on Sebastian's laptop.
