Chapter 61 - "ZOEY GOT TO KNOW ABOUT HER BIOLOGICAL FATHER."

Zoey pulled out the syringe off her hand angrily, coming down from the bay. I exchanged glances with Jasmine, hoping that Zoey heard nothing.

I forced out a smile, pretending like everything was fine. Maybe it was too late now, because she was already giving me dead and frightening stares.

"Zoey you still need some rest." I said to her.

"I know the entire truth now. Why did you lie to me mum? Why?". She asked me in tears.

I stood up from the bay, approaching her. The more I took few steps forward, the more she restricted me from coming closer to her. She kept moving backwards in tears.

"What did you think you heard dear?".I asked her, trying to confirm if she actually heard the right thing.

"All these while, Mr Sebastian has always been my biological father." Zoey said, sobbing.

Liam over heard everything, because he was standing at the entrance door now. He wasn't expecting Zoey to be the first to find out about the truth. He just stood there, watching like he knew nothing about it.

"Zoey what are you doing huh?". Jasmine asked her.

"Aunty please stay away from this." Zoey warned Jasmine.

I made an eye contact with Jasmine, pleading with her to stay mute. I wanted to be the one to handle this by myself. Tears flowed down my cheeks, the longer I tried to explain everything to Zoey.

"What did you want me to do huh? To have you get fathered by that beast?." I asked her with a pained voice, already getting pissed off.

"But he was changing. He has always been so good to me, even without knowing the truth." Zoey replied in tears.

She rested her back against a wall, sobbing. The nurse decided to leave us alone, and she blamed herself for everything. If she hadn't come here, the truth wouldn't have been exposed to Zoey.

"Zoey please come and lie down back. You're still weak." I pleaded with her.

"Stay away from me mum." She commanded me, pointing a finger at me.

Her gut was so daring, and I stayed put immediately. Zoey cried faintly and I was scared of her condition. She didn't need all these now. While she was still sobbing, Zoey placed her hands on her head hallucinating slowly.

I ran towards her to help her out. Jasmine joined me, because it was obvious that Zoey haven't regained back her strength after donating a huge amount of blood to Sebastian.

"Stop acting stubborn and just listen to me." I shunned her immediately.

"Stop, stop it." Zoey removed my hands off her body.

Her eyes slowly rolled before me, and she collapsed immediately. I caught her in my arms, and ordered Jasmine to call the aid of the nurses outside. She ran out to call them without any hesitation.

....

Some group of nurses entered the ward, and carried Zoey from my hands. I squatted inside the ward crying bitterly. Jasmine pat my back, consoling me. Liam finally decided to enter inside the ward, because he couldn't just continue to watch me cry.

"She's never going to forgive me." I said.

"She'll calm down, as soon as she wakes up." Jasmine tried convincing me.

"No, no, I know my child too well. I'm doomed." I cried out.

"The truth was bound to happen. I also know everything too." Liam confessed.

I looked at him surprisedly, wondering why he concealed the truth if he knew about it a long time ago. We left the ward, searching for the nurses that left with Zoey. She was the only one I was thinking about now.

Zoey was transferred to an emergency room, because her blood dropped out of pressure and shock. The doctor assured me that she would be fine atleast in two days time.

I was refused from entering into her ward.

I headed over to the theatre, where Sebastian was laid on life support. I peeped on him through the tinted window before me, and he was still unconscious, though the life machine next to him was showing positive signs.

"I hope you also forgive me too, for taking your daughter away from you." I lamented.

"Maybe if you were a good spouse to me back then, none of this would have happened and Zoey would have had a complete family." I muttered to myself.

I noticed a hand that tapped my shoulder, and I quickly turned my head backwards. I was really scared, but got relieved when I noticed that it was just Liam.

"I feel very sorry for you. You don't deserve any of this." Liam said to me.

"Zoey would tell him everything once he wakes up. I feel very useless." I cried in Liam's arms.

Liam consoled me, looking at the tinted glass. He was also sad, when he saw the bad state of his dear friend Sebastian. The brave Sebastian he knew back then, was just lying lifeless like a weakling on that bed.

"You're the best mother to your daughter. Others might see it as being selfish, but you lied to protect her." Liam said to me.

"Thank you Liam for standing by me when I needed you the most." I said to him, wiping off my tears with the back of my hand.

While we were still reminiscing in pain, Hazel ran towards the theater in tears, after hearing the tragedy that happened to her older brother. Her heart was shattered when she heard that. Getting there, she was surprised to see us standing next to the theatre, in each others arms.

"What're you doing here? You don't deserve to see my brother in this condition. Get out!!". Hazel screamed at me angrily.

"What're you doing Hazel?. You should be thanking her instead, for giving out her own daughter as a donor to Sebastian." Liam said to Hazel.

Hazel tried opening the theatre room, but Liam stopped her immediately. The inscription on the door, was boldy written "Out of bound". Hazel rested on the door, crying bitterly. She couldn't understand anything.

"Liam, how did Sebastian get into this situation?." She asked him.

"He met with a brutal accident." Liam revealed to her.

Hazel used that opportunity to roll herself on Liam's body. She flew into his arms sobbing. Liam allowed her to get closer to him, since he understood that she was in so much pains at the moment.

Jasmine arrived the passage of the theatre with George, and I was surprised to see him. He found out about Sebastian's accident from the news too. He made his way down here, immediately his board meeting ended. He also noticed my absence at the company today and it was also one of the reasons he came over.

"I'm sorry about this." George apologized to me.

"It's fine George. You shouldn't have stressed yourself to come here. I'm obviously fine." I lied to him, wearing a smiling face.

Jasmine knew I was lying, but she didn't want to cause any drama now. George peeped through the glass, and saw Sebastian's recent state. They might not be good friends, but George was really hurt to see him in such a devastating condition.

"I feel very bad for him. This is too much." George said out of pity for Sebastian.

"It shocked everyone too." I responded back.

"You need me more now. I also heard from Jasmine, that your daughter is in a critical condition right now." George said to me.

I nodded my head, trying so hard not to shed a tear. George pulled me closer to his chest, giving me a warm hug. That was all I needed now, to ease off my tension. I cried silently and he pretended like he didn't hear those little sounds of my sob.
