The spatial storage ring, pulsating with arcane energy, rested in Von's hands, a tangible manifestation of his growing abilities. Archmage Alendoria's words resonated with promise, hinting at a future where the fabric of reality itself could be molded by his magical artistry.
"This is just the beginning," Alendoria affirmed, her eyes gleaming with the wisdom of ages. "With time and dedication, you can weave the fabric of reality to create wonders beyond imagination."
Von absorbed those words with a sense of awe and possibility. The spatial storage ring was a mere glimpse into the potential of spatial manipulation? His first step and greatest achievement to his mind now only represented a gateway to realms of magical creation yet unexplored. The elven archmage's guidance was opening a new door to a world where magic and reality intertwined seamlessly.
"Now," she continued, her voice carrying the weight of ancient knowledge, "let us explore more facets of spatial manipulation and the art of arcane creation."
The magical amphitheater, witness to countless arcane wonders, became the canvas for their exploration. Archmage Alendoria gestured, conjuring spatial anomalies that danced in the air – gateways to hidden dimensions, pockets of space suspended in time, and ethereal pathways that defied conventional understanding.
Von, stoked with curiosity, stepped forward. The spatial storage ring serving as a catalyst to do more. As Alendoria guided him through more advanced techniques, he felt the tapestry of spatial manipulation unfurling before him as they delved into the creation of spatial pockets and other miniature realms tucked away within seemingly ordinary spaces hidden from the outside world. Von learned to manipulate the size, shape, and properties of these pockets, adding to his growing mastery over the spatial fabric.
Archmage Alendoria proceeded to introduce the concept of dimensional bridges, allowing him to connect distant locations through an arcane conduit. Von marveled at the seamless connection between two points in space, more than a gate, a bridge allowed travel in both directions for any number of people who had no affinity for spatial magic. His first thought was to build a bridge from Marsgate to here and another from Marsgate to Milltown so he could return home or to study whenever he desired.
While unable to do it herself, the elven mage guided him through the intricacies of manipulating spatial time using a hybrid of his two greatest affinities, a delicate twist to pocket dimensions. This would allow for the acceleration or deceleration of time within the entire realm from creation, not just designated areas as he created now. Once he acquired more magical power, he would be able to create his own realm where he could set the flow of time. With this, he would be able to leap into it in the middle of battle, rest or heal, and return in a fraction of a second completely renewed.
With each lesson, Archmage Alendoria unveiled layers of spatial manipulation, challenging Von to stretch the boundaries of his understanding. The amphitheater, bathed in magical radiance, echoed with the whispers of spatial possibilities. As they concluded their exploration, Archmage Alendoria offered a final piece of advice. "Remember, Von, the art of arcane creation is a lifelong journey. One can make a lucrative living creating items. First, you should embrace each discovery, learn from every challenge, and let your imagination be the compass guiding you through the realms of spatial manipulation. You have already shown a talent most wizards won't learn until they are masters."
Once you have learned transformation magics, you will be able to enter a gate, teleport, or otherwise move being yourself on this end, but arriving as a completely different beast. For now, we shall explore the harmonious integration of teleportation and healing magic," Archmage Alendoria announced, her voice resonating with a blend of ancient knowledge and anticipation. "The ability to swiftly transport oneself to aid those in need requires not only spatial finesse but also a mastery of healing energies."
"To begin, envision a distant location in need of healing," Archmage Alendoria instructed. "Feel the threads of spatial magic that connect you to that place. Now, intertwine those threads with the healing energies you channel within."
Von, lowered his head and turned red. "I haven't learned how to heal yet."
She grabbed his sleeve then teleported the two of them to a serene corner of the magical amphitheater, surrounded by vibrant flora. "I am not a master, but I do have some connection with healing magic. Let's delve into the magical art of healing. As you know, healing magic involves channeling mystical energies to mend wounds, restore vitality, and promote overall well-being. It is a delicate and compassionate aspect of the arcane arts, requiring a deep connection to the life forces that permeate the world."
Knowing dinner time was soon approaching, Von instantly sped time in the amphitheater for the second time before spending several subjective hours learning to the attune to the white bits of life energies required to, allow the natural balance of life to guide his magical perception.
Alendoria initiated the lessons by teaching Von how to perceive and interpret auras. Auras, the subtle energy fields surrounding living beings, carry information about physical, mental, and emotional states. Von learned to differentiate colors, patterns, and fluctuations within auras, gaining insight into the subject's overall well-being. She guided the boy through the lesson of attuning his magical senses to the subtle currents of life energies.
Von closed his eyes and extended his magical senses. He focused on the rhythmic pulse of life around him, feeling the ebb and flow of vitality in every living entity and finally discovered the source of this white healing magic was nearly everywhere. Everything living produced it to some extent.
The next step was to establish a connection with the subject. Von practiced cultivating a state of deep concentration and empathy, allowing him to attune his aura to the aura of the person being diagnosed. The Archmage stressed the importance of establishing trust and maintaining a respectful connection during this process.
Once the connection was established to the patient's aura, Von had to learn the technique of projecting his aura into the subject's body. The elven wizard guided him in visualizing his aura as a gentle, ethereal extension of his consciousness. Von learned to navigate the interior landscapes of the subject's body, encountering the unique signature of energies associated with different organs and systems.
As Von explored the internal realm, she aided him in learning how to interpret the sensations, colors, and vibrations encountered within the subject's aura and how it matched the location in the patient's body. Certain colors might indicate imbalance or illness, while fluctuations in energy patterns could reveal specific injuries or maladies. Von honed his ability to discern these subtle cues and translate them into meaningful diagnostic insights. Throughout these lessons, she emphasized the ethical responsibilities associated with diagnosing through aura projection. Von understood the importance of using this skill responsibly and for the benefit of the individual's well-being and learned the importance of respecting the privacy and consent of the subject.
Once he had created a connection to the individuals, she looked closely into his aura finally deciding he contained sufficient foundation in life energies. With this, she introduced Von to the delicate art of weaving healing magic. Together, they practiced the fundamental spells to mend wounds, alleviate pain, and initiate the process of cellular regeneration. Von learned to channel his magical essence with not just finesse, but extreme precision in order to direct the healing energies to specific areas of the body.
To refine his diagnostic skills, she aided Von to discover the intricacies of differentiating between physical and magical ailments. Archmage Alendoria presented a number of scenarios where traditional healing methods might be ineffective, requiring Von to discern the magical origins of certain afflictions. He learned to adapt his healing weaves to address both mundane injuries and those influenced by magical forces.
Building upon his understanding of physical healing, she sought to extend Von's knowledge to mental and spiritual well-being. Guided him through spells designed to alleviate mental distress, heal psychic wounds, and restore emotional balance, she took patience and understanding to assist Von while he practiced the art of weaving intricate spells to resonate with the ethereal fabric of the patient's mind and spirit.
As Von progressed, he proceeded into advanced healing techniques capable of accelerating the natural healing processes. He learned to manipulate the flow of magical energies to stimulate regeneration, enhance immune responses, and bring about swift recovery. Alendoria emphasized the importance of adaptability as he would be required to tailor his healing weaves to the unique need of each individual.
Next, to prepare for the diverse challenges of magical healing, she teleported the two of them to cause Von to have to practice in environments with fluctuating magical energies. The archmage exposed him to realms where the laws of magic differed, teaching him to adapt his weaves to varying magical environments. This ensured Von would be capable of extending his healing abilities across different planes and magical landscapes.
Once he progressed to channeling healing magic and accurately demonstrated the intricate weavings necessary to channel magical energies into a healing spell. Alendoria called forth any who had the slightest injury allowing Von to practice on minor injuries. Doing this allowed Von to feel the flow of healing energies from his magical core to the target. The elven archmage then provided guidance on maintaining balance, ensuring the magical healing did not disrupt the recipient's natural energy flow without overwhelming them with his own magic.
Explaining the fact healing extended beyond magic alone, the elven woman introduced Von to the healing properties of magical herbs. They explored the enchanted garden within the amphitheater, identifying herbs with inherent magical qualities capable of complementing healing spells.
Von learned about how magical herb could enhance the efficacy of his healing magic. He began by familiarizing himself with the diverse array of magical healing herbs. Alendoria presented him with various specimens, each possessing unique properties and magical qualities. Von studied the subtle differences in colors, shapes, and magical auras emanating from these herbs, deepening his understanding of their inherent properties. He made certain to store every bit of information within his system.
Having learned their properties and how to recognize the herbs, understanding where to find these herbs in their natural habitats was the next step. The elven woman teleported Von to enchanted gardens, hidden groves, and mystical landscapes within the amphitheater. He learned to recognize the specific environments favored by different magical healing herbs, from sun-dappled clearings to shadowy forest floors.
Learning to harvest the various herbs required a delicate touch and she explained there were also ethical considerations when harvesting herbs. One needed to respect the balance of nature, taking only what was needed and ensuring the sustainability of the magical flora. As an elf, Alendoria emphasized the importance of gratitude and reciprocity, fostering a harmonious relationship between the healer and the natural world.
Once the harvested herbs were in hand, Von was instructed in the art of preparation. Archmage Alendoria introduced him to various techniques, from drying and crushing to creating potent infusions and tinctures. Von gained an understand of the alchemical nuances to enhance the potency and usefulness of the groups of magical healing herbs currently available to him. Once he mastered the preparation, he would be able to amplify the herb's inherent magical properties.
To integrate the use of magical healing herbs into his healing practice, Von learned to synergize their properties with his magical weaves. Alendoria guided him in crafting spells which harmonized with the qualities of specific herbs, creating a seamless fusion of natural and magical energies. This synergy aimed to amplify the healing effects and provide holistic well-being.
She completed this lesson by suggesting he visit an actual herbalist if he decided to become a white wizard. They would have a broader knowledge of the herbs than she and could train him in advanced herbology. An apothecary could aid him in learning how to create medications to speed the curing and healing of some things as well without the need to draw on magic.
Her stomach rumbled several times as the lesson drew to a close, and she looked at the young man. "Whenever you are ready, I need food. Therefore, please ease us back into the correct time."
Turning red, he dissolved the bubble which allowed him to attend the equivalent of weeks worth of classes in a single day.
"Since you have already visited the tortoise elder, I believe you should either continue your lessons with Master Poralis or start your lessons with Cordelia, Mistress Chandler, or Thain depending on your learning preferences."
"What about Master Mason?"
She raised a finger and looked up for a moment then replied. "Well, having just learned life magics, you probably don't desire to intermingle it with its antithesis just yet. You should probably wait a day or two before acquiring his knowledge."
Von then inquired, "Do you teach phosphomancy? I am really hoping to learn about it and obtain an uncommon focus."
The elven woman shook her head. "I do not, but Ferandor does. Do you believe you will be able to absorb another focus? If so, I can get you one before dinner. Though, I will tell you, if you are going to keep eating them, you should speak with Oren about learning how to create them on your own. He provides many of ours once the proper beast hearts have been acquired."
"Please, Archmage. I appreciate it. I have training with Master Oren later this week and shall ask him."
"I will get one from my tower now, provided you have dropped the time distortion field, then meet you at the refectory."
"I dropped it. I will see you there soon." Picturing the location in his head, he concentrated on bringing himself to outside the entry doors but off to the side to make sure no one was there. A moment later, he was standing where he pictured. Entering, he took a seat close enough to the door to be easily seen, but not so close as to be bothered by the wind every time the door opened.
