Lia couldn't stop thinking about what had happened in Xavier's office. The memory made her ashamed. Why did she daydream like that?
Now, they were on their way to the F Sky Airport and the car felt stuffy as she sat next to him.
Xavier hadn't mentioned what had happened the day before and acted like nothing out of the ordinary had occurred.
She sighed.
It seemed he didn't care about her at all.
"Has Marianne Berlin called?" Xavier asked.
"No, Sir," she replied. "His P.A called to say he's no longer interested in the bid."
"It's his loss, though," Xavier said with a shrug.
"Your father also called," Lia said. "He said your grandfather's birthday is next week and that you must be there."
"I see," Xavier said, his expression neutral. "Is there anything else?"
"Yes," Lia said. "I've received some other calls, but they're not urgent."
"All right," Xavier said, his attention clearly elsewhere.
