Julia's POV
I leaned my back and looking at my monitor and try to playing this MMORPG game. I think, I'm addicted to this game. I already done checking all the monthly report, no investors visit, and all my assignment already done.
"Ms. Albert?" I hummed, looked at Ashley. "Um... Ms. Castello spotted in the lobby." Nice. My heart beating fast and tapped my finger on my desk as looking at this monitor. "Do you want..."
"Yes, please. Called her with Mr. Shelby." Ashley nodding her head and leave me alone in this room. I should focus on this problem, then I will continue to play. This game so addictive. Who make this game? This game has potential to distribute.
Ah... finally I found the one. I should...
*knock.. knock...
Whatever. I will search the developer later, "come in!" I cleared my throat as three of them walked get inside to this room. You look pale, Cecilia. Have you had breakfast? If you haven't we can have brunch together.
"Please have a seat." Cecilia put a white paper bag and put in on my desk. "How are you, Ms. Castello? You look... pale." She nodding her head. A thin smile draw on her face.
"I'm a bit better. Thanks for the wine." I'm nodding my head. Marco looked down, and he doesn't have a courage to stare at me after what happened in the meeting room two weeks ago. How I'm not upset? He bluntly said she was better than him.
Ashley put two cups of tea in front of them. "You can take a sip, please." Both of them take a sip and exhale. Marco's hand trembling. I don't care about him. The one I care about is, her. The person who sits next to him.
"It's... chamomile? I love chamomile!" She pulled the paper bag in front of me and a brown envelope. What is this. "Ms. Albert, I..."
"Wait! Please don't fire me, Ms. Albert. D-don't fire me!" I raised my eyebrow and looked at him begged. Why should I fired you if you not making a mistake?
"Care to explain what happened, Ms. Castello?" Cecilia looked down, puffed her eyes. I glared at him. "Jane..." Alright, that's it! You want Jane replace in her position, right? I will grant your wish, Marco.
I press a button and Ashley gets inside of my room. "Called Ms. Janice." Ashley nodding her head. I don't want to lose her. Not because I'm in love with her, but... she has what anyone hasn't. Jane gets inside my room, standing behind Marco and looked down.
"Y-yes, Ms. Albert?" How fake they are, right? I took a deep breath and cleared my throat.
"Ms. Bennet?" Ashley looked at me. "Your mom also become employee of this company, right?" She nodding her head. "Can you... tell me one of the rules inside this company?"
She straightened her body. "You can't have relationship with your colleague, if it does, one of them should resigned or fire by the HR." Three suspects in front of me looked down and silence. It's already inside their contracts.
You can't have relationship with your colleague. As the punishment, they can choose resign or fire. If I were them, I will choose resign. "Who wants to confess it first?" I turned my monitor and played a CCTV where's Marco and Jane making out in the meeting room.
Cecilia widens her eyes and covering her mouth. I hope she realized Marco is not good for her. I took a deep breath and press the space on my keyboard. "So..."
"It was Marco's fault, Ms. Albert! I-I..." I leaned my back, raised my eyebrow. "Marco! H-he... p-pushed me, Ms. Albert! He..." She glance at him and poke. Marco did not response, he only looked at my monitor in horror.
He pretends to doesn't know it, or pretends to be dumb?! I'm scratching my hair and exhale. Huff... once you said I will protect you, but know... you're girlfriend sells you out. Jane's face turned to pale and sweat dripping from her face.
"I can... discuss this to the HR and said... you and Mr. Shelby has a relationship unless..." I should bring her joy back. She seems still in love with Marco. "Unless... you swipe place with Ms. Castello." Jane widens her eyes.
"In the meeting your boyfriend here said... you're great. You can increasing sales, right? My dad sends you to MIT and get a master degree there. Is that a problem for you, Ms. Janice?" She glance at Marco, who stills not speak a single words.
"I-I..." She took a deep breath and cleared her throat. "M-my degree will be wasted, right?" She tries to negotiate with me? I shouldn't give her a chance to bargain.
I'm straightened my body. "Ms. Bennet, can you... put this paper bag on the shelf?" She picked the paper bag, then leave three of us alone. "If... you don't want it, it's fine. You can pay your student loan by yourself."
No mercy on both of them. I know this is a bad idea. She can leak my information or spread a rumor about me or even her. She's the real victim here, not them. People tend to have sympathy on Jane because all people inside this building know who is she.
"And... now, Ms. Castello is Mr. Shelby's secretary and you..." I'm pointing at Jane. "I demoted you to become a sales. All the change, affective as we speak. This conversation is over, now... pack your things and you should move immediately. There's a lot of caller in this hour."
Jane nodding her head, then leave to pack her things. She forced to accept, or she lose her job. I should make sure Jane living hell to teach her a lesson. Don't be arrogant. My dad hired you because he promises to your dad.
I'm looking at them and cleared my throat. I picked the chocolate envelope and put the letter into the shredder.
Cecilia's POV
"Julia! Are you..." I took a deep breath as I looked my resignation letter in that shredder machine.
"Now... Mr. Shelby," he nodding his head. His face still pale after she played the CCTV video. "What about you? You not protest, right?" He shook his head. I took a deep breath and scoffed. I still love him, but this isn't right.
"In this world... there's two type of people. The one who love them and let them go, or hurting people." She take a glance at me. "I decide to... let her go because..." Wait, what?! Does she likes me?!
I furrowed my brow as I looking at her, spinning her pen as she look me in the eye. I admit she's attractive, but this is not... what I expected.
"YOLO is stands for you only live once." Marco nodding his head. From now on, I replace Jane's position as his secretary. "If you meet your girlfriend, even after the work hours, I will fire you. Now, get back to work!" What?!
Marco nodding his head and leave me and her inside her room. He... "Are you insane, Julia?! This..."
"This is what you want." She picked her phone. Where she wants to go at this hour? "You still in love with him, right? So, it's a win-win for us." I widened my eyes. Win-win you said?! What else can I do now except I accept this fate.
I took a deep breath and get out of her room with a thousands question in my head about her feeling towards me.
