With fingers laced together as they went to the bakery, Sophia was hesitant to get used to the feeling of him at her side again.
Yet the way her heart sang when he was by her side, she knew that she was going to fall into old habits and prefer him there much more than she preferred him away. All she could do was enjoy the moment but beg herself not to get too used to it. He would have to return to his life no matter how much she liked him there.
When the bakery was unlocked, Sophia went to start organizing the front but Luca put his hands on her waist and pushed her towards the kitchen.
"I'll take care of everything out here," he said. "I know how you like things organized."
He had energy to spend and might as well put it to good use.
