Chapter 50 - Her Good Mood

With a fancy car and nice clothing, Luca felt he was inching closer to becoming a complex human once again. 

The thoughts in his mind were two-dimensional sometimes considering he had a very shallow well to pull from. He clung to Sophia because his mind was full of only her. When he finally had his memories back, he was certain her importance to him wouldn't change. 

It was all-consuming. Seeing her again had opened up the floodgates. He felt a particular ache in his core that only seemed to appear when he was within her vicinity. His body punished itself for overreacting to her. It was his payment for the inner urge to push her into things she wasn't ready for quite yet - despite what the voicemail had said. 

If she was drinking, she was certainly exaggerating about sleeping with him.

The man drove aimlessly for a while until he saw a vendor selling fresh-cut flowers. He wondered if Sophia would like something like that. It was worth a try.
