Sophia was quickly realizing that later to her and Luca meant entirely different things.
For three days, there was no sign of him. The only evidence that he had been there was the smell of him that lingered around her house, especially in the guest room and her bedroom. A few items of clothing were left behind as well but she didn't touch them, hoping he really would be there one day to retrieve them.
Without warning, she was back to the times when she would close the bakery alone. Rosa would ask where Luca had gone but Sophia didn't have a good explanation. Avoiding the question was easier or she felt like she was going to get too emotional.
