As Luca left the dilapidated structure with Gus, he had a bitter feeling within him that wasn't due to the AZ he had just injected.
For once, his father was treating him as someone who deserved to occupy the same space as him. He wasn't condescending to him nor was he outwardly critical. To Luca, it was a shame that it took him doing something bad for his father to like him.
It also occurred to him that his father likely thought he could get away with treating the people around Luca horribly for his son to fall into line with the way he's been trying to make him for ages.
