Caleb clicked his cell phone shut and slid it across the table. His wife emerged from the room after putting their children to sleep and came to sit beside him.
Seeing him look so sullen she gently asked, "What's wrong?"
"Doran's face is all over the news. The police have offered a hefty reward in exchange for any information related to him. I don't know where he is hiding Skyla. How could I never realise he could fall to this level." Caleb frustratedly raked his fingers through his hair, leaning against the sofa's back.
"He was always slightly aloof. Hardly brought Skyla along but after his jail time, he has truly become unhinged. I can only imagine what Skyla's family must be going through," she added.
"Yes, I met Zyair the other day. He seemed like a ghost, his eyes had sunken so in and there were deep bags under. I wish I could somehow help him. He is a good man," Caleb frustratedly confided in his wife.
