"Oh! You didn't have to, Mrs Kincaid. This is too much." Skyla didn't know what to do or say.
"Don't be a stranger Skyla. I hope this is only the first of many meetings we will have. Plus it's not like every day I see my son talking to the opposite gender." She smiled and touched Skyla's arm in her elderly affection.
"Accept them, Miss Skyla. I hope they will be according to your taste. I promised you a reward for such a well-organised event. Consider it that."
He spoke with such warm affection without batting an eye. Meena had always observed that he kept an emotionless, dominant tone whenever he spoke to a female so they wouldn't get any funny ideas.
This was something she wasn't used to hearing her son use the tone except when he spoke to her. She was quite baffled but remained silent.
"Thank you!" She accepted them with a shy smile.
