Skyla's heart went crazy, tensing up her body as his arm elegantly wrapped itself around her waist and his forehead rested on her lips. The palms of her hands excessively began to sweat in the nervousness.
"Ummm…," she mumbled.
"Please! Let me stay like this for a little while longer. I need you right now," the desperation in his words eased her tensed muscles.
She could tell he was hurting. All that elaborate facade he had been keeping slightly crumbled, giving her a glimpse of what he battled every day.
"I am here," she barely whispered, her hands gently holding his head. His eyes closed, the upheaval in his chest unknotted bit by bit as her closeness soothed him.
