For those who are reading this chapter, this is nothing but a summary of what happened in Chapter 4 to Chapter 20 (the infamous flashbacks), and for the readers who have yet to read this book, you can try to read these chapters; I would appreciate it.
But for those who cannot bring themselves to read the flashback, I have made this summary of what happens and the important characters you would be seeing in the later chapters. That's all I had to say; now onto the chapter.

Noah, the mage who took over Long Tian's body, decides to explain to Xin Yan what happened to her son. He starts by explaining how when Long Tian left the Long Mansion to make his way towards the selection ceremony, he met Xiao Mei, the fiancée his family decided for him.
Long Tian never liked her because he knew she was a two-faced girl who wanted people to worship her like a queen. On their way to the City Hall, where the selection was going to take place, Xiao Mei tried to keep a distance between them so the others would not think they had any relationship. She hates Long Tian because he treats her like she is nothing special and mostly ignores her.
Upon arriving at the city hall, Xiao Mei walked away from the boy towards where the other heirs of the clan were standing. Long Tian stood in the corner where the commoners were standing.
That was the only way he was allowed to leave outside the clan. He had to act like he was not the grandson of the clan head of the Long family. The reason for that was simple: no one in the Long family except his mother cared for him.
Long Tian's father married Xin Yan against the clan's wishes and left on a journey to gain enlightenment and become powerful. After he left, everyone in the Long clan made the life of mother and son hell. They sent them to live in the worst courtyard and spread the word that Long Tian was trash, destined to not be able to cultivate. The Long Clan did not want to be associated with the two of them in public.
Soon after that, the selection started and people from the Soaring Heaven Sect arrived riding on a huge flying beast. Two inner elders of the sect, along with the sect master's son, Lin Feng, jumped from the eagle and started the selection test.
During the test, they gave everyone an introduction to cultivation before presenting two orbs which were used to test everyone's talent in cultivation. The first orb glowed with six colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet, matching the colors of a rainbow. Red being the lowest while, violet representing the highest.
The second orb showed six colors based on the affinity to natural elements. They were red, green, blue, yellow, black, and white for fire, wind, water, earth, yin, and yang respectively. The son of the Sect master showed off his talent before the others started to test them.
When it was Xiao Mei's turn to take the test, she walked up to the stage and the orbs revealed she had good aptitude which prompted Lin Feng to say, "As Expected of my fiancée." His words caused waves to occur in the audience and the participants.
While Xiao Mei wanted to see Long Tian's reaction to the news, Lin Feng thought that something was going on between the two of them and silently made the boy his enemy.
After Xiao Mei, there were two more noticeable participants. One of them was a dark-skinned gorgeous girl, and the other was an average-looking young man with a sturdy build and an ancient-looking sword strapped to his back.
Had it not been for the scrappy look of the sword, people would have thought of it as a treasure but they ignored it after a glance. But Long Tian, who was someone who had been reincarnated to that world thought that he was the son of providence of that world as a joke but he did not know how true that joke of his was.
Long Tian recognized that dark-skinned girl as his only childhood friend, Ruo'er. He was shocked to see how she had grown up to be such a beautiful woman. She also saw him and smiled back at him but it was again seen by Lin Feng who became even more jealous of them and this made him even more determined to kill the boy.
Ruo'er passed the test with such great talent that the elders of the sect had to offer her a core disciple position but she said she needed to consult with her family.
Finally, it was Long Tian's turn to take the test. Under everyone's curious eyes, he walked up to the stage where the balls were placed and placed his hands on them. Much to everyone's shock and relief of a few people, his orb shone with a grand light only to turn white, which was the color of the orb declaring he was talentless.
Lin Feng could not let him walk away just because he could not join the sect for being talentless. Fortunately for him, the elder who came with him stopped the boy and offered him a job as a janitor only to be refused, saying that his mother needs him at home.
Taking the opportunity, he provoked the boy into fighting him until one of them gave up with the excuse that he did not appreciate the elder's grace but the boy ignored his provocation and chose to walk away from the stage but then it happened. Not being able to think of any provocation, he chose to curse his mother, called her a whore in front of everyone.
But it not only flipped Long Tian's sanity switch but also made people from a common background angry. Unaware of these things, he called the boy back to fight him. With a dead emotionless look in his eyes, Long Tian walked back to the stage and accepted the challenge.
The elders who hated the son of their sect leader for being incompetent and spoiled wanted to use this chance to make him feel some setback. They knew that Long Tian was more powerful than Lin Feng because of his powerful physical strength. Since children can only start cultivating at the age of fourteen, they can only train their physical body by then.
Just as they thought, Long Tian brutally defeated Lin Feng and he almost crippled his little brother but the elders stopped him on time. They sent the boy home knowing that they could not do anything to the boy in public. To make Lin Feng suffer, Long Tian used his emotions to tap into his innate qi which was usually done by a proper cultivation technique.
Because of this unconventional way of awakening, his internal organs were in shambles and he needed immediate treatment.
On his way home, he was stopped by the same childhood friend of his who told him that she would be there for him always no matter what his talent was and then she said goodbye to him before leaving for the Soaring Heaven Sect with her grandfather.
He also came to understand that Ruo'er is not as simple as she seems. The overwhelming strength of her grandfather and her insane talent was enough of a clue for him.
By the time Long Tian reached home, he was staggering on the road. Xin Yan, who was waiting for him at the main gate, caught him before he could fall and took him inside. While she went to look for a doctor, a maid of the Long family entered his room and poisoned him with a slow and untraceable poison. While poisoning him, she revealed that she was a spy sent by Xiao Mei to keep an eye on him.
