"How the hell?"
Rain was great with stealth; it had almost never happened that she was noticed when tailing someone, but Calyx didn't just notice he was being followed; he had also known exactly who was tailing him.
"You're not going to come out?" Calyx turned away, facing the direction he had been heading. "Suit yourself," he continued as he began walking away.
"Wait." Calyx heard R's voice for the first time as she appeared behind him with a motion blur, her voice lingering with a darkness Calyx couldn't quite place, a soothing sound, yet terrifying.
"We decided that I go with you to the supply station," R explained, as Calyx squinted in disbelief. "That was more like stalking me than going with me," Calyx shot back.
"It was... A precautionary step," R offered as an explanation, one that didn't suffice for Calyx, but he couldn't care enough to probe further.
