Calyx's mind raced with thoughts. Could the Starborn cult still be after him like last time? Did someone recognize him from the fight? How does all this tie in with the blood he saw on his body?
With every question that ran through Calyx's head, the less he felt he knew, and a hefty weight of annoyance washed over him at the fact.
"Where do we go now? Are we leaving the saloon?" Calyx questioned as the elevator car ascended. "Yes, everyone is leaving until Nexor works things out or gets killed, whichever comes first," Cass's response was dry and sadistic as the doors slid open with a groan.
"Fuck, they blocked here too," Cass's reaction felt almost underwhelming when taken into account the sight that lay before them.
The familiar alleyway, usually a haunt of stray cats and flickering shadows, was now beating with life, and not the welcome kind.
