Calyx's head leaned on the glass as he stared out the train window. He watched as different-looking people moved through the station. As he observed, he could see, even in plain sight, some dark things were going on—just discreet enough for him not to know what they were.
It made him wonder what kind of evil was being done in a place where almost anything could be done openly, how bad could it be to required hiding.
The train suddenly began to move, with no announcements or sounds as Calyx was used to. It was a silent departure; the station and people disappeared as the train entered what Calyx could only conclude was a tunnel.
Although it didn't seem so, he could see nothing but black outside the window—a perfect dark. It wasn't a long stretch of walls but almost like a void. However, just as Calyx kept trying to figure it out, they shot out of the darkness.
