The sun was shining on my face, waking me up from a night of good sleep.
"Mmmm~"
Looking at the clock near my bed, I noticed that the entrance exam was in a couple hours.
And on my desk was a note written by one of the blonde family members: "we went outside, be out by the time we come back."
They didn't even bother to say goodbye, and honestly? Fuck them, I'm gonna get into the academy no matter what, I don't need them anymore.

I grabbed my luggage and didn't bother to eat breakfast, I did take the note and write something in the back though: "fuck you."
I was now infront of the front door, this simple door seperated me from my new life... but it doesn't matter, I need to take the first step.
And so I went outside.

The family that hosted me placed a train ticket that would directly guide me to the academy in the luggage, I guess I can thank them for that.
The outside world seemed surpringly normal, and that's obvious since the novel itself just took my original world and introduced monsters, powers, races and new technology so it was not suprising the city had the exact same structure then a real life one.
"Where the hell is the train station..."
It was the first time I had been here so it was natural I would get lost, luckily the train ticket had a small map on the back so I used it to guide myself.
The train station was crowded, a lot of people were here but the thing that surprised me the most was...
The presence of different races.
I knew that that it was normal as I was inside of the novel but it looks so weird.
There are four races in "Descent of the Heavenly Demon":
-Humans: my race and the normal one I guess.
-Elfs: powerful magic and longer lifespan, the only thing that distingues them from humans are their ears.
-Beastmen/woman: same lifespan as a human but more strenght, you spot them using their tails or ears.
-Demons: the main characters race, it is believed at the start he is a human but we slowly realize he fused his soul with a demon so he is a half breed, we can catch them by their horns and they are incredibly powerful too.
I couldn't stop myself from being amazed at the sight of all these... people talking to each other.
In contrary to most novels I read, the races here live in harmony, well except for the antagonists and villains though as they are a different story and there are so many of them I can't even remember them all.
I kept walking in my amazement and hit somebody else with my shoulder.
I turned around to say sorry but...
"You have a probem kid?" a brown haired beast men with fluffy looking ears talked to me harshly out of nowhere.
"Huh? No, I didn't mean to bump on you."
"So you're saying I can't feel pain and it's not my problem?"
"That's not wha-"
"Then what is it kid? Don't tell me you're another one of those punks thinking they are better then us huh? What, you think we are animals or somethin'? Well, if you're looking for trouble, you've found the right guy, and he's coming straight at ya!"
"..."
"Ain't a word for yerself?"
I was just quite amazed at how dumb this guy was, but I guess this served as a good reminder that even if everybody lives in harmony, there are assholes everywhere!

But without me realizing, the beastmen grabbed my hand and took my train ticket.
"BAHAHAHA, you're going to the entrance exam of the academy? A weakling without powers?"
I don't know how he knew I didn't have powers but I guess this was enough for him to just give me back the ticket and walk away while laughing.
What a... weird encounter.

The platform was filled with people.
Some of them looked confident, others scared, and there were even a couple who were eating or reading something.
But the one thing all of them had in common was that none of them looked like the protagonist.
Daemon is a tall, handsome man with blonde hair and red eyes, I don't know where he was but maybe he already took another train, good thing for me anyways, I never wanna meet this guy.
[Last train heading to "The Core", please embark.]
A train suddenly appeared infront of me at full speed and I, along with the hundreds of other people climbed inside of it.
There were seats and windows everywhere, the train was composed of a long corridor with the seats facing eachother and the windows.
I was lucky enough to find an empty one and sat there, waiting for the train to depart.
"HUGH, I hate humans..." a feminine voice echoed behind me, and I turned around to see an elf with greenish hair and a big bust complaining.
She sat on the chair next to mine and put her luggage in the space above her seat, then she proceeded to cross her arms and look outside.
I started by ignoring her blatant racism agaisn't humans but as I saw her face and hair, I instantly recognized who she was: Mina, the tsundere elf.
She was one of the heroines of the novel and a mega tsundere for the main character who got annoyed and ghosted her for the remainder of the story at some point.
I didn't want to get close to a heroine, so I got up from my seat, took my luggage, and tried to see if I could move somewhere else even though the train was packed.
But as I got up to leave, she grabbed my hand.
"W-wait! I didn't mean it, why are you trying to leave? We are both upcoming students at the academy right?" she said in a puppy like voice.
Just as I said, she is a massive tsundere who hides her feelings by saying rude things, i'm guessing she was just excited to be able to take the entrance exam.
I sat back on my chair and sighed, I promised myself to not interact with people from the novel and look at me now...
"The name's Kaine, and I have no powers."
"My name is Mina, let's try our best!"
It seems like she didn't care about my no power comment, I guess she is nicer then portrayed in the novel...
As I was lost in my thoughts, the train started moving, and it didn't stop until we arrived at the destination.
I left the station alongside Mina who followed me and we decided to walk next to each other while leaving the station.
And when I saw the outside world, I couldn't stop myself from being astonished.
"Wow..."
I was at "The Core", the place where all the rich and famous families resided, but also where the academy was located, we would only need to walk a few minutes from here to reach it...
We continued to walk towards the academy, and after one final turn, I saw it
It was a gigantic castle filled with the highest technology and some of the most powerul beings in the novel, and I, someone that wasn't part of the original cast was now gonna step inside.
There were cameras everywhere and an instructor at the entrance was giving each of the people taking the entrance exam a number.
Of course I knew why this was the case but nobody knew what the test would be about so I could hear everybody around form their theories.
I had fun listening to them but it was now my turn and I grabbed my number, "1783".
Then I stepped inside of the courtyard after Mina took her number and headed toward the "arena", a gigantic structure that could hold up to twenty thousand people at once, and the place where the test would take place.
I just hope it goes well...
