After eating the breakfast I had heated up for us, I told the girls I would be going out to explore the forest, and they agreed to come with me, but I refused as I wanted to go alone.
"Why?" they asked, confused, after all Mr.William at this point had not told anybody about the task every student had to complete.
"I want to improve my skills and level up, I can't do that if I'm constantly protecting you," I explained, which was a lie, but I didn't want them to follow me as I would need to fight some monsters, and then investigate, so having them around my legs would be annoying.
"O-oh... okay..." Clara mumbled and looked away, visibly sad about the fact that I rejected her.
"Don't worry, i'll be back before dinner," I assured them and kissed their foreheads, "now go out and explore the city, you guys wanted to do so right?"
"Yeah, I guess..." Mina replied and sighed, "we'll wait for you."
