"The shooting wouldn't be until two months time you have lots of time, so don't stress yourself with the editing" The director's voice was reassuring through the phone.
Jessica sighed. Indeed, two months would seem like a lot of time to him but it wasn't to her because no matter how much she go through the novel, it still needs lots of editing. Though the book was her most successful book, she still feels like it's lacking lots of things and two months wouldn't be enough to amend it, especially since the book was quite lengthy.
"Thank you, director. Then I'll come see you tomorrow to discuss any changes I'll like to make" She then ended the call and put her phone down. Staring at the laptop screen where the latest chapter she was editing was displayed, she wondered if she was doing things right. Her hand placed under her chin as support as her beautiful brown eyes skimmed through the chapter, checking for any errors that needed her attention.
"I guess this is good enough" She murmurs as she stood up from her reading table with her mug in one hand. She hummed a song as she went out of her study, heading for the Kitchen. She hadn't eaten anything all day except for the glass of milk she had early in the morning, so she needed something to fill her tummy with.
She took some slices of bread, then carried the peanut butter along before going to settle at the dining table to have her dinner. Her home as usual, was quiet.
She was an orphan, no not the type that grew up in an orphan. She was raised by her parents with love and everything a child could ever wish for but unfortunately, few days to her eighteenth birthday, they both got into an accident and died. Since she was already an adult when her parents died, she was given the choice of what she wanted to do. Whether she would love to live with her other relatives or not. She chose to live in her parents home and because her parents were originally well-off, she was left with all their inheritance, so life wasn't that hard to live.
It was when she began feeling depressed about their death that she started pouring her emotions into writing novels and now she was among the top three most famous writers in the country. She was a full-time writer so she had no other side jobs. She was like an hermit who stays locked up in her house all day except she needed to get something from the supermarket and that only happens at night. She hardly has friends, except her colleagues from school who still calls her from time to time in order to check on her.
She was almost done with her dinner when she heard the familiar ringing tone of her cellphone. She glanced in the direction she had left it and stood up to go get it. Seeing the name displayed on the screen, she sighed before picking it up.
"Jessy, I heard about your new project and I couldn't believe you didn't tell me about it" She sounded sulky. Anne was the closest person to her as both of them used to be sitmates during high school and middle school, but they weren't close enough to be called best friends. Maybe Anne thought otherwise though.
"From whom did you hear that?" Jessica asked as she didn't tell anyone yet so it was surprising that Anne heard it from someone.
Anne scoffed from the other end "Is that the point?"
"So what's the point?" She asked with her head tilted even though the person she was talking to couldn't see her.
"Arghhh! I don't know what to do with you" Anne was frustrated as she always was whenever she was talking to Jessica. The girl was impossible to get through.
"Anyway, I heard it from Juliana, she's the one playing the female lead of 'I belong to His Majesty's movie adaptation"
"The Principal's daughter?""
"Yes, that one. She eventually became an actress. Though I'll say it would have been a pity if she didn't became one"
"She was quite the drama queen back then"
"She still is, by the way, the main reason I called was because the get together of our class is next week, would you be able to attend?"
Jessica glanced at her wall where she had made a list of all she was going to do for the month and as it appeared, she wasn't free that day.
"I would be very busy that day. And also I have to finish editing the book in two months, so every minutes is precious. But if I'll be able to attend, I'll tell you in advance"
Anne sighed "I thought as much. Anyway, remember to have your meal and don't starve yourself or overwork yourself"
"Yes ma'am, I understand. Bye then, see you soon"
"Bye" The call then ended.
Jessica went back to finish her dinner before going back to her study to continue her work.
I belong to His Majesty' is a novel about the Illegitimate daughter of the Minister of Foreign affairs, who often got mistreated by her Step mother, sisters and peers because she was born of a maid. Her Mother was originally a maid of the Minister of Foreign affairs mansion but one day she caught the eyes of her Master and thus began the affair that led to the birth of Wei Jingyi. But since her life wasn't meant to be all bitter, she got acquainted with the Emperor when he came into the city as a regular nobleman in order to inspect the city. They became friends and eventually lovers. The Emperor then told her who he was and asked her to marry him. Though she resisted at first, she eventually accepted and thus became his Consort of the highest level. Even though most people were against it because she was an illegitimate daughter.
The other wives of the Emperor were jealous of her because she was the Emperor's favourite and tried various ways to kill her but since she was the heroine, she was able to triumph over them and eventually became the Empress... It was a novel about how the innocent and weak girl got stronger while learning to protect herself and also with the support of her lover, she was able to conquer all.
Jessica took a sip from her mug as she put on her headset with music on. It was something she does in order to enhance her concentration whenever she was working. She continued editing the book and it was at that moment her laptop suddenly stopped working. Confused, she continued tapping on the keyboard hoping for it to work but it didn't. Then suddenly, a blinding light shone from the screen of her laptop which made her stare in bewilderment but before she could understand what was happening, she felt herself being pulled towards the light and then she lost consciousness.

Several young girls were talking in whispers as they stood beside the bed where a beautiful young lady was sleeping.
"You all better be quiet if you don't want to die" Lin qi, the head maid snapped at them which made them all go quiet.
Their Mistress was still asleep and it was a known fact that if she managed to wake up because of their noises, they would be punished. They all had to stand beside her bed until she was awake because she doesn't like having to just call them when she wakes up.
Finally, the person on the bed stirred in her sleep, which made them all hold their breath. It was necessary because another day with the Princess was another day of trouble and no one wanted to be on her bad side that early in the morning. She was called the princess because in the Prime mansion, she was one.
Jessica finally opened her eyes but it was blur so she closed it back then opened it. It was the several pairs of eyes looking at her that caught her attention first, then their attire. She blinked because it seemed she was seeing things, it couldn't be that she was kidnapped, right? She was only in her room some moments ago, it couldn't be that she was kidnapped that fast.
Her eyes wandered around the room but it only added to her confusion. Everything was unfamiliar and not modern. It was like she had been transported to some old era.
"Good morning, My lady!" The rows of people in front of her bowed at her after saying their greetings. Jessica was shocked out of her wits as she stared at them befuddled.
'Can someone tell me what the heck is going on???!'
