Emily sat at the back of the garden as the sound of the music fell through the background, the breeze was swaying the flowers in the garden gently as if they were dancing to the tune of the music in the background. Emily enjoyed every bit of the flow as she prayed for no distraction from any being. But she heard footsteps and a feminine perfume that was coming behind. She turned immediately with fear in her eyes but it was Mia coming to check up on Emily. "You scared me, Mia". turned back as she sat in her previous position.
"And why would you be scared like this" Looking around, she asked "What are you doing all by yourself in this lonely place, wherein we are having fun on the other side"
"I'm fine Mia" Emily said with emptiness coming out of her.
"Oh come on Emily what's the problem, you look disturbed" Mia sat beside Emily as she stroked her back gently" Let it out dear. It's cool" pretended not to know what might be bothering her. She was such a great actress!
" I'm a little bit confused Mia?" She turned towards Mia and held her hands " Mia since five months of my marriage, there's this emptiness in my heart that has not been filled since we got married and I'm confused because I know within myself that I married the man of my choice and with all sincerity, Frank loves me so much more than I do, but this emptiness that has not been filled no matter how hard I tried, is giving me a great concern "
Mia seeped a breath into her lungs and she thought "You must be joking Emily, to think that Frank loves you that much..." Mia touched her In response to her unanswered question " Emily, I think because-- maybe you had no kids for him. No child bonding the both of you together. That was the reason you're feeling this emptiness within"
Emily pulled out her hands from Mia and fixed her gaze in an unknown direction, trying to recollect the meaning of what Mia said. She felt so pained remembering the feelings she got whenever pregnancy issues came up in their house and she turned towards Mia " But I wanted children for him"
Rolled her eyes up, pretending not to notice "Then make it happen, babe"
" Frank doesn't want us to start making babies now" Emily managed to open up about the situation she was facing.
"Well... Hmm... wow" she exhaled as she felt she was short of words " Let me believe that he has a very tangible reason for that... Like some families normally adopt this kind of plan. But It depends on how much he gets or makes every day or annually. So based on what you said my friend, there is nothing to worry about. The serious issue there is, for you to know yourself..... I mean, he should be cautious before you conceived, and you know what that calls for... That you people have to abandon whatever plan you had before and face the reality... So, my dear, you need not worry about the issue.... What's it is for you to pray that whenever he's ready, there shall be no complications"
"That's the problem Mia" Emily taps Mia gently" Last week, I found out I was pregnant"
"Oh my God!..... Have you discussed it with your husband?" Mia asked so concerned.
"Yea, but he said that I should get rid of it" she said as tears were forming in those beautiful and alluring eyes of hers.
"What!" Mia half yelled as the wine she held in her hands fell off as she pretended been choked.
"Yea... Mia... This kind of thing happened a few months ago and another too" Emily said as she allowed the tears to roll down her cheek.
"Are you telling me that you aborted your babies for him? Just to make him happy? Girl..." she asked as fear gripped her spine but deep down she was the happiest girl "Girl you're crazy" She thought.
"My dear I'm just tired... Like I wanted to be that submissive wife to him" Emily bent her head in shame.
"Oh, you wanted to be a good wife to him, whereas you've turned out to be a bad mother to your unborn kids" looked at her with pity hovering over her face.
"You won't understand Mia, you..."
" Oh Stop that Emily! Stop it... Can you just hear what's oozing out from your mouth... It stinks girl... Had it ever occurred to you that you're married, Emily? You're putting your life at risk! you wanna develop a hormonal imbalance girl? Oh God," Mia asked as Emily shook her head in disapproval.
"I told him but he wouldn't listen to me.... Mia, you needed to see how he changed immediately after he heard I'm pregnant..... You needed to see Mia" More tears flowed down her cheeks as she hugged Mia pouring out her heart with tears. She even doubts that she still has tears left again.
"It's okay Emily, brace yourself..... You will come strong baby girl" Mia hugged Emily too as she felt water on her cheeks. Oh tears, she's crying for her dear girlfriend" Girl you must be contagious, look at me crying because you're hurt... Oh my God I don't wanna do this.." she thought to herself. "Girl let's go home party is over baby girl" They picked another drink from the waitress.
They both said in unison "One for the road" as they laughed out loud. Mia picked a substance from her bag and dropped it inside her drink without anybody noticing...
"Girl I can't feel my leg" Mia acted so tired.
"What? Mia how come" she laughed out loud as she felt something must have changed in Mia because she was a good drunk. "Okay can I have it" She took Mia's wine and drank it at once as she helped Mia to the taxi that had been waiting for them for a long time. And they drove down the lonely road to their destination...
