I was seated on the chair, dressed in a new cloth since my old one was burnt by the fire that once consumed me.
Things were getting a little too real and my head was slowly starting to accept the fact that I was no longer human.
And what Amber said was the truth, I am now a vampire.
As much as I'm trying to avoid it, I can't keep running from the truth, everything points out of it, and it pains me to know I won't be able to face my family like this.
Speaking of my family,
"Who… might you be?" My mother asked, seated on the chair opposite where I was.
And just beside me was Amber, her legs crossed while the two ladies who came with her positioned themselves behind me for some reason.
"My name is Amber Murai, and you must be Crimson's mother, he has told me so much about you." She smiled, her head tilted to the side a bit.
For someone who I have already seen her act in all sorts of creepy ways, I couldn't help but feel a bit uncomfortable.
According to Amber, she was going to try to convince my mother to let me leave the house for some months, and in exchange, she'd take care of their monthly expenses.
If that was the case, I really don't see why I should refuse this offer. Not only did she say she was going to protect me from some guys called Hunters, she also promised to take care of my family.
It's not like I'm incredibly rich, I barely make enough for them, but with this, I can kill two birds with one stone, I just have to make sure my mother doesn't deny the offer.
"Are you a friend of my son's?" My mother asked, it doesn't seem like she's suspicious of anything yet.
I can't possibly say the same for my sister.
"Oh yes, infact, we are so close, he basically follows me everywhere, and when he gets aggressive, he normally pushes me against the wall and then moves his hand towards my…"
She suddenly paused, clearing her throat, "What I meant to say was, yes, your son and I are extremely close".
I sighed, my heart beating fast, as she spoke, I noticed the unease that showed on both my mother and sister's face, thank goodness Amber retracted her words.
"Oh I see, then welcome to our humble home." Said my mother with a smile on her face.
"The honor is all mine, now then, let's get to business."
Amber snapped her fingers.
Opening the door to the front entrance was a man dressed in a white suit. He moved towards where we were and placed a briefcase on the center table.
Without wasting any time, the individual began unlocking the case and once he was done, he opened it for my sister, Yuna and my mother to see.
A shocked expression immediately showed on their faces as soon as their eyes met the briefcase in front of them.
Well, I on the other hand already knew what to expect, so it was more of anticipation if anything.
Then my mom asked,
"What's this?"
"A briefcase"
"She knows it's a briefcase, she's asking what's inside and why are you showing her." Yuna chimed in.
At that point, I was also a bit anxious, because Yuna rarely speaks to anyone other than me and mom, so for her to speak, it had to mean something.
Amber didn't seem to care much, or maybe she just wasn't reading the room, either way, it's clear to see mom and Yuna aren't taking a liking to her.
"Well, I'd like to trade your son."
My jaws fell down the moment those words left Amber's mouth.
"Get out." Yuna replied with a smile, while my mother was frozen in shock.
I stepped in.
"Wait wait, that's not what she meant!!! She just has bad communication skills."
Defending her, I took a sharp look to the side and for some reason, Amber was beet red, her finger stuck inside her mouth while she breathed loudly.
I tried not to think about it too much, this is Amber we are talking about, logical reason does not apply to her.
"Luu, explain what is going on? Why is there a lady in our house and why is she trying to buy you?" My sister asked, her expression extremely serious.
"Luu? I don't appreciate you giving my sweetie a…."
I immediately covered Amber's mouth before she would make matters worse.
Taking a deep breath, I focused my gaze at my family before I spoke,
"Since dad left, there's no doubt you have been the one taking care of us, and I really do appreciate it… that said, I've never been happy about that, which was the reason I got a part time job, so I could at least take care of you and Yuna…"
"But that wasn't…"
"And even still, the money earned isn't enough to send Yuna to school and let you open your dream salon, but now it is, I got a job to work as her butler, and she's the best, one of a kind, see?it could work out."
Towards the end of my speech, Amber kept licking my palm while making weird noises. I desperately tried to keep my cool because of how stimulating it was getting.
"So you got a job… working for her?" My mother asked.
"Y-Yes I did." I managed to respond well even though Amber had already started doing lewd things to my hand.
Hell, I could feel her saliva trailing down from my palm.
"You can go."
"Eh?" My eyes turned to my mother, honestly I was loads of surprised about her response.
"I can…go?" I asked again.
"Yes, I don't want to push you away from something you want to do, Leon, you're always so noble, I like that about you, putting our needs before yours, that said, can I make one selfish request?"
"Yeah… sure…" Again, I was still hella surprised.
With the most beautiful smile in the world, my mother looked to me and spoke,
"Just make sure you come check up on me every week".
