Chereads / Worlds Between Pages: A Villain's Journey / Prologue - It all begins here

Prologue - It all begins here

In ancient times, the sky god created two remarkable individuals, Apollo and Artemis - twins, a boy and a girl, who were the first to set foot on Serth. At that time, Serth was inhabited by animals and monsters that lived in harmony with each other.

A pack of wolves, sensing the twins' innocence and vulnerability, took them under their wing and raised them as their own. As they grew up, Artemis, with her wild spirit, found her mate in a wolf from a different pack and had many offspring. Meanwhile, Apollo, with his fiery nature, fell in love with the dragon queen and had one son, who was later known as the first dragon born. Their children, born of different worlds, became the first Demi-humans born on Serth, a testament to the power of love and acceptance.

But as time passed, the once vibrant and diverse population of Demi-humans dwindled, leaving only humans with varying skin tones, animals, and monsters. The world, once a tapestry of different beings, became a monochrome painting.

Humans, in their fear and ignorance, enacted laws that prohibited interracial reproduction, choosing instead to mate only with their own kind. As the demi-human population dwindled, the sky god Uranus, once a revered figure, became less and less known. His temples, legends, and followers decreased until, eventually, his name was forgotten, a tragic loss in the annals of Serth's history.

And other gods and beliefs emerged, with different continents worshipping specific deities. This led to the world being divided into kingdoms based on the religion they followed.

Thalia's life was full of joy, and although it was not without flaws and imperfections, she faced them with confidence and determination. When their parents passed away, Thalia and her sister Iris relied on each other, becoming each other's closest confidantes. This incident changed both of them forever. However, life had yet another unexpected turn thrown at them, and Thalia was transported to a world similar to the ones in one of the books she read that she could hardly remember.

The line between good and evil was blurred in this new world, where heroes and villains coexisted. Unlike the book, this new world was not limited to the experiences of a single protagonist. Instead, it encompassed various characters and storylines that unfolded across multiple regions.

Thalia takes on a new identity as Sol Albertine, a boy in this new world, while her sister Luna Albertine becomes another villain. In the book, they were known as the "Evil Siblings," feared and reviled by all. However, Thalia believed that villains in stories were created and not born, and now it became more apparent that the lines between good and evil weren't always clear, and those who decided which side someone was on were the people around them.

Thalia knew it was challenging to change people's perceptions, as everyone had their own beliefs. She started to value even more the people who knew her for who she was, knowing how difficult it was to change people's views. Despite her new identity as a villain, Thalia's main concern was her sister's happiness.

In their past life, Thalia's sister had always been her protector. In her last moments, Thalia's only regret was not giving her sister the happy life she deserved. So, she decided she was willing to be labeled a villain if it meant keeping her sister and the people she loved safe and happy. This time, she would protect their happiness, whatever the cost, with confidence and determination.
