Time passed, and after further investigation, Zane found out that the children who died in the explosion some time ago were actually other children who were not victims of The Mask. Meanwhile, Zane and the police managed to locate where The Mask was hiding the kidnapped children, and it turns out they were still alive and safe.
Since then, all the children were freed, and Zane resumed his investigation. But all his efforts were in vain, as his search for The Mask's members yielded no results. Eventually, due to a lack of sufficient evidence to substantiate his suspicions, the investigation into The Mask was closed, and its members were declared officially dead in the building explosion.
