Chapter 6 - Levelling up And unlocking a new skill(chapter 6)

prevously in chapter 5

He then stood over the corpse of the figure, draped in red ninja clothing, but strangely enough, there were no emotions on his face—no regret, nothing, no overwhelming nausea. "I should probably sort this out," he thought to himself as he sorted his wound first before putting the figure in a trash bag after cleaning any fingerprints and traces that could be linked back to him. He then sorted his house so that nothing looked tarnished before carrying the figure out of the house. Since it was still late at night, Henry was not that concerned about being seen he though hard and while before a crazy idea popped onto his mind, "its risky but i should be able to figure some information about the people behind him" he pondered before deciding to dump the body in a dumpster, yes, a dumpster, before he returned home.

Back in his home, Henry, frowning, could be seen sitting in a chair as he thought, "Guess Goldie wasn't lying when he said this world was dangerous." He didn't look like someone who had just killed, which he himself realized before shaking his head. "He wanted to kill me, so I killed him. Simple. There is no need to feel remorse for someone who wanted my life in fact, i should be pissed" he sighed as he picked up his phone. "But this forces me to change my newly formed plan. If he belonged to an organization which i am 90% sure, then they would probably keep coming, so I need to be on the move," he pondered to himself. "But I was already planning to do that, so all this does is force my plan to change a little," he sighed as he looked up.

Chapter 6

"However, just being on the constant move isn't going to cut it. I need more potions, stronger ones. I need high-quality materials, I need weapons, and money." Needing so much, Henry sighed as he brainstormed ideas, which he did until morning when the sun rose. He didn't get a wink of sleep as he had been hard at work, practicing until he reached the 3rd tier on his potion synthesis skill.

[ Name: Henry ]

[ Mana: 100% (1 mana lasts for 1 minute, 1 mana can be recovered every 1 minute) ]

[ Class: Alchemy: lv.1 (35%) ]

[ Skills:

Potion-synthesis: You can synthesize two plants/materials by melting them together using mana, as long as the materials do not possess two opposing qualities, with a 55% chance of getting a second-grade potion, and a 10% chance of getting a third-grade potion. Tier: 3 (0.4%) ]

"I should unlock a new skill when my class reaches level 2. Hopefully, it's a useful one," he mused to himself as he went to work, but not before checking the corpse that he had placed in the dumpster on purpose, which had actually been moved. It wasn't done by the police, given the lack of yellow tape and the absence of police themselves. The reason why Henry dropped the body in a location that was so easy to find was that he wanted to see just how badly this mysterious organization wanted to remain hidden, if there was an organization at all. "Guess I was right in assuming that they belonged to an organization, and they liked to be hidden but why didn't they came and just kill me? well its doesn't matter i am moving" he chuckled to himself as he left for work, while an enemy formed in the back of his mind.

[2 weeks later]

In a New York City parking lot, there was a campervan. The campervan wasn't very big, only fitting a small bed at the back, a gas-powered stove, a small sink, a couple of cupboards, a small shower head, and a couple of fridges. Inside the campervan, a video was playing on a laptop, showing Tony Stark bleeding from his head. A large man, wearing a semi-finished skeleton suit with large electrical whips on each hand and an identical arc reactor similar to Tony's, was fighting him. Tony Stark himself was putting on a portable version of his suit, which was now silver and red. The two men fought, with Iron Man initially getting his ass handed to him, only to somehow win in the end.

"Of course, heroes always win," Henry's annoyed voice sounded from the back of the campervan as he effortlessly mixed two first-grade materials together. That's right, this campervan belonged to Henry, who had decided to ditch his apartment for a mobile base. Although a cramped space, at least with this campervan, he was constantly on the move, allowing him to roam the park and collect natural herbs, which almost always had a 0% deterioration rate. Plus, it kept the mysterious organization at a distance, allowing him to progress nicely. And progress he did, as the reason why he was refining a first-grade potion was to gain the last remaining experience for his class.

[Ding!] [Congratulations to the host for reaching level 2 in your (Alchemy) class and unlocking the skill Alchemical Weapon]

[Name: Henry]

[Mana: 100% (1 mana lasts for 1 minute, 1 mana can be recovered every 1 minute)]

Alchemical-Weapon: You can combine two or more materials to create a weapon which, depending on the materials used, would have different effects as long as you know how the weapon works. Cooldown: 24 hours. Tier: 1 (0%)]

Seeing the new skill he unlocked, Henry, who was in a bad mood after seeing the new Iron Man villain lose, instantly smiled. "Fuck yeah," he yelled in excited laughter as he poured the newly made potion into a prepared test tube. He then turned his attention to his new skill, "Well, this does cause a ripple through my plan, but it's not that big. I just have to start learning," he groaned as just the thought of learning caused him to dread such a thing. "But it's a necessary sacrifice I have to make if I want to survive in this world," he sighed, but looking at a particular green extract, which he made by grinding a plant and juicing it, made him smile.

The reason why he was smiling was because this plant was something he picked up by chance in the park while he was collecting mushrooms. Much to his luck, this plant was of high quality. Not only was it of high quality, but this plant was not an herb; it was a poisonous plant known as nightshade.

[ Name: Nightshade ]

[ Grade: 3rd ]

[ Description: Nightshade is a highly toxic plant with glossy black berries. Consumption leads to symptoms such as dilated pupils, rapid heartbeat, and hallucinations. ]

[ Effects: +45% hallucination induction, +40% cardiac stimulation, +35% loss of vision. ]

[ Deterioration-Rate: 0% ]

Just remembering the status panel for the plant made him smile to no end, as he thought, "I really do need some harmful plants." He sighed to himself as he left his cozy home and dropped by a nearby hardware store, buying some steel rods. Upon returning, he muttered, "I swear I need to think of a way to earn some money." He then remembered something, "Right, don't I have those vitality potions? I can sell them to some of my coworkers for some extra cash." He thought to himself as he sat at his table, which was his new workshop. "Well, I could always sell some liquid version of crack or weed," he mused, liking the idea even more.

"Huh, you know what, I might actually do that," he thought to himself as a plan formed in his mind, a plan to get rich quickly. "And this potion is definitely going to get around quickly," as an evil smirk marred his face. He quickly shook his head and finally turned his attention to his two materials. Thinking for a second, he mused, "Well, I know how to use a knife and I already watched a quick video on how to forge a knife, so hopefully this is enough." He hoped as he activated his mana, causing his eyes to glow. He activated his new skill, which was much stronger as it broke down the steel rod so quickly that if he had used his potion synthesis on the metal, it would have taken years.
