Within an hour, everyone was ready to go. Izuku stood by the door, his expression calm but serious.
"We're going in as a team," he said, looking at Maki and Momo. " We will strike at night, we don't want civilians to get involved in our battle, it will only cause more chaos. You two stay close to me at all times.
Once we're on the island, we'll do sightseeing on the whole island. Our main objective would be to do onfield scouting of the area, we need to be fully aware of the environment and things we can use to our benefits.
We'll start from the outskirts to finally reach our target location, Fuyumi, Rei, Kaina, and Eri. You guys will focus on sightseeing while we handle the scouting part. Kaina makes sure not to leave Eri alone even for a single second.
I have a hunch that our arrival will be notified to the man behind the operation so make sure to enjoy yourselves but at the same time stay vigilant, don't leave behind a single one of you. He might use that opportunity to get an upper hand on us, something that could jeopardize everyone else's life."
Fuyumi nodded, her eyes filled with quiet determination. "We'll stay out of harm's way, Izuku. You don't have to worry about us."
Maki, standing beside Izuku, gave him a firm nod. "We've got this. Let's make sure those people get out safely."
Momo adjusted the strap on her bag. "We'll be careful. I'll make sure everything goes according to plan."
Izuku took a deep breath, feeling a sense of pride and trust in his team. "Let's go, then."
With that, they all headed out, ready to face whatever awaited them on I-Island.
Since I-island was a place where not just anyone can enter, Izuku had arranged special passes and invitations through Momo's family name.
And his name was mentioned in the VVIP guests list and all the VVIP guests were personally escorted by the staff. He had put a special request to be escorted by someone who's a quirk enthusiast if possible.
Melissa's eyes lit up the moment she heard about Toji's fascination with quirks. So she decided to meet him and be their escort.
After landing in I-Island she escorted them out of the helipad. As Izuku and the girls were walking through the exit, discussing various research facilities and technologies that can help people with a useless quirk enhancing it, she finally couldn't hold back her curiosity.
"Toji, are you a quirk enthusiast? Like… into quirk research and all that?" she asked, her voice rising with excitement.
Izuku gave a sheepish grin, nodding. "Yeah, you could say that. Ever since I was a kid, quirks have been kind of an obsession of mine. I love studying how they work, how they manifest, and how they can be used."
Melissa's eyes widened, a smile stretching across her face. "Really?! Oh my gosh, that's amazing! Most people only care about using their quirks, but they don't actually take the time to understand them. I mean, quirks have changed the entire world, but people barely scratch the surface of what they can do!"
Izuku's smile deepened, his enthusiasm growing. "Exactly! People overlook the science behind quirks—how they're tied to genetics, how they evolve, how emotions and experiences affect them. It's incredible when you think about the potential."
Melissa's excitement bubbled over as she practically bounced beside him. "Finally, someone who understands! I grew up around this stuff—my dad's a scientist, so I've always been fascinated by quirks and how they work.
But even here, on I-Island, most people just focus on making stronger support items or gear for heroes. No one really talks about quirks from a scientific perspective."
Izuku's eyes gleamed with interest. "You've been working on projects related to quirks too, right?"
Melissa's face lit up again, and she nodded enthusiastically. "Yes! I've been trying to design devices that help people struggling with controlling their quirks. There's so much untapped potential, but no one really seems to care about that side of things. I guess it's more 'practical' to focus on what quirks can do now rather than what they could do."
As they spoke, Izuku could see that Melissa was getting more comfortable, her guard slowly lowering as they geeked out together. He kept the conversation going, diving into deeper aspects of quirk theory and applications, letting her passion take the lead.
It was all part of his plan to build rapport, to make her trust him enough so that when they eventually asked more sensitive questions, she wouldn't think twice about answering.
Melissa, meanwhile, was completely immersed in their conversation, feeling a deep sense of connection. "I've always wondered about the origins of quirks too," she continued excitedly. "Like, how did they first appear? Why do they differ so much? And could there be other factors, like environmental influences, that cause quirks to develop in certain ways?"
Izuku nodded eagerly, feeding into her curiosity. "I've had the same thoughts! There's so much we don't know. And then there's the question of whether quirks have limits—or if they can continue to evolve."
Melissa's eyes sparkled with joy as they continued to explore these ideas together. She had never met anyone who understood her passion like this. Her voice softened slightly as she added, "It's so rare to meet someone who gets it… who cares about quirks the way I do. I usually feel like I'm alone in this, you know?"
Izuku gave her a warm smile, his tone genuinely kind as he subtly touches Melissa's shoulder, breaking the touch barrier as well as getting closer to her. "I totally get that. I've felt the same way for a long time. It's nice to be able to talk about this stuff with someone who's just as passionate."
Melissa's face flushed slightly, a blush evident on her face, feeling a sense of bliss and relief. She felt like she could trust Toji. As they walked and talked, she became more open, more relaxed, her excitement making it easy for her to forget that he was here for other reasons. Her trust was solidifying.
Izuku, sensing the shift, decided it was time to nudge the conversation in a different direction. "I-Island must have the best resources for researching quirks," he said casually. "But with all these advanced facilities, I bet you have to keep security pretty tight, right?"
Melissa, caught up in their bond, didn't hesitate. "Oh, for sure! We have top-tier security systems in place, especially around the main labs and production areas. They're the most heavily guarded.
But the outer districts are where the regular patrols usually focus, since that's where the tourists and general public are. Most of the big stuff is deep in the restricted zones, anyway."
Izuku nodded thoughtfully, listening intently. "Makes sense. You wouldn't want anything happening to all this tech and research."
Melissa waved her hand, her guard down completely now. "Exactly! But, honestly, the systems here are so advanced that there's not much to worry about.
I mean, sure, there are regular patrols, but I wouldn't say it's ever a big deal. Everything runs pretty smoothly."
Izuku smiled subtly. This was exactly what he needed. Melissa had let her guard down, giving them insight into the island's security without even realizing it.
But she, in turn, felt more connected than ever, not sensing any ulterior motives from him.
Her voice grew softer, more personal, as she added, "You know, I've never really had anyone to talk to about all this. Most people either get bored or just don't care.
But you… you actually understand. I haven't felt this excited about a conversation in a long time."
Izuku gave her a genuine look of appreciation. "I'm really glad we met, Melissa. It's nice to finally find someone who shares the same passion."
Melissa's heart warmed at his words, and for the first time in a while, she felt a deep sense of fulfillment.
She didn't realize it, but she had let her defenses down completely, lost in the joy of connecting with someone who understood her on a personal and intellectual level.
"I hope we can keep talking like this," she said with a smile, her voice laced with hope. "I have so many ideas I want to share."
Izuku's smile remained soft, but there was a sense of quiet satisfaction beneath it. "Definitely. We've got a lot to learn from each other."
And as they continued their walk around the island, Melissa didn't notice that in her eagerness to share her world with someone who finally understood, she had also shared much more than just her passion for quirks.
She felt blissful, unaware of how easily Izuku's plan to build trust had worked, leaving her both vulnerable and content in the process.
"I don't mean to interrupt you guys, but can we start the tour, Eri here is getting restless," said Fuyumi not liking the closeness.
Out of all the girls Fuyumi wasn't the only one who couldn't get used to Izuku being with other girls, and it was coming out more and more now that she was pregnant.
All the other girls had come to terms that Izuku is going to be surrounded by more and more girls, so rather then showing jealousy they had decided to make themselves as useful as possible and solidify their position so that even if more girls come, they are superior to them and have more control over their own position.
Fuyumi on the other hand who wanted to take Izuku for herself till the end, couldn't develop that "used to" behaviour that's why she would openly express her own thoughts not wanting Izuku to go for another woman. But well that's what makes her special.
"Ahhh, I'm sorry," said Melissa as she had a heavy blush on her face, and a guilty look on her face. As they walked Melissa decided to start acting like a proper guide showing them around the island.
