While this was happening, the heroes and the public were having a jolly time at the sports festival, and a threat or many threats were just released for them, to make their time even merrier.
A sinister smile spread across his face as the entity dressed in black hovered in the air. This was the perfect opportunity to unleash chaos upon the city while the heroes were distracted by the sports festival.
With a wave of his hand, Izuku activated his quirk, hacking all the cells across the city, and with a snap of his finger released all the villains from their confines across the city. From petty thieves to dangerous criminals who were yet to be transported to Tartaurs, they emerged onto the streets, ready to wreak havoc.
The chaos was immediate and devastating. Buildings were set ablaze, storefronts were looted, and panic spread like wildfire among the citizens. Without the presence of pro-heroes or police to maintain order, the city descended into lawlessness.
Villains roamed freely, terrorizing innocent civilians and causing destruction wherever they went. The streets echoed with the sounds of screams and sirens, the air thick with the smell of smoke and fear.
In the absence of authority, the villains acted with impunity, their actions fueled by the knowledge that there was no one to stop them. It was a scene of utter chaos and despair, a stark reminder of the fragility of peace and the ever-present threat of evil lurking in the shadows.
As the chaos unfolded across the city, the heroes and the public, totally unaware of this development, were excited to watch the final match of the sports festival between Maki and Toji. Everyone was eager to see the outcome, hoping for a thrilling conclusion to the tournament.
But to everyone's surprise, before a single punch was thrown, Maki also just like Momo spoke up, saying she forfeited the match.
The audience gasped in shock, unsure of what was happening, the thrilling end to the sports festival they were expecting was replaced by an anti-climatic forfeiture, causing the crowd to exclaim, "EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" as the whole stadium exclaimed in unison.
"Why would she forfeit?" someone whispered in the crowd.
"I don't know, but this is so not cool," another replied.
Maki's announcement left the audience stunned, unsure of how to react. Some looked disappointed, while others seemed puzzled by her decision.
Meanwhile, the pro heroes watched from the sidelines, their thoughts on the festival.
"This is unexpected," murmured Best Jeanist, watching the match unfold.
Hawks, his expression unchanged, remarked, "I was expecting a more thrilling finale."
As Maki stepped off the arena, the crowd erupted into whispers and murmurs, unsure of what to make of her decision. It was a surprising end to the tournament, one that left everyone questioning what would happen next.
In the stands, Kaina watched with a resigned sigh, feeling a sense of inevitability. She knew this was about to happen, as she knew Maki well, she would willingly lose if Toji was the one winning.
Along with that, she also knew strength-wise Izuku was superior then the three of them, and her quirk was useless in front of Izuku, as it hadn't affected him since the beginning.
Thus she knew fighting Izuku simply meant embarrassing herself, before getting defeated, and she had heard what Momo had suggested when she had forfeited her match, and knew this was the most logical outcome.
Across the stadium, Inko clenched her fists in frustration. She had hoped Maki would avenge her son Kazuki's defeat, but now she was left gnashing her teeth as Maki forfeited the game before even fighting.
As the prize distribution began, Momo stepped forward to receive the bronze medal, her expression calm but inwardly conflicted. All Might, standing at the podium, offered a few words of acknowledgment for Momo's strategic prowess and her understanding of when to bow out gracefully from a match.
"Momo Yaoyorozu, you've demonstrated remarkable intelligence and skill throughout this tournament," All Might's voice boomed across the stadium, "Your ability to utilize your quirk with precision and your tactical sense is truly commendable."
Momo accepted the medal with a polite nod, but inwardly, she couldn't help but snort at All Might's words. She knew the reality behind the facade of the Symbol of Peace, aware that his praise was just a formality, as she would rather have Izuku's praise than All Might's.
As the medal was placed around her neck, Momo thought about her parents, wishing they were alive to witness her moment of recognition.
A sense of sadness washed over her, but she quickly composed herself, offering a gracious smile to the crowd as she stepped back into the line of contestants.
'Your parents would be proud of you, Momo,' said Izuku through the mental chip.
Momo upon hearing this had a sweet smile on her face as she hugged Izuku tightly in front of everyone, not caring about anything at all.
As Maki stepped forward to receive the silver prize, her demeanor was a mix of pride and uncertainty. All Might's words of acknowledgment echoed through the stadium, recognizing Maki's strength and determination in the tournament.
"Maki Yamikumo, your performance in this tournament has been nothing short of impressive," All Might declared, his voice carrying a note of respect, "Your skill and resilience have earned you a well-deserved place on the podium."
As the silver medal was placed around her neck, Maki couldn't help but feel a surge of doubt. Did she truly perform well? Was her effort enough?
Turning to Izuku, who stood nearby, Maki hesitated before asking, "Did I do good?"
Izuku's response was immediate and sincere, "You did amazing, Maki. Your strength and determination were evident in every match."
A warm smile spread across Maki's face, her doubts dissipating in the face of Izuku's praise. It was a moment of validation, one that filled her with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
As she stepped back into line, her heart swelled with gratitude, grateful for the support and encouragement of her friend.
As Toji stood before the crowd to receive the gold medal, a mixture of emotions surged within him. The feeling of humiliating his bullies in front of all pro heroes, while also winning the sports festival filled Izuku with a sense of satisfaction.
All Might's words of praise echoed through the stadium, recognizing Izuku's remarkable performance and unwavering determination throughout the tournament.
"Toji Yamikumo, your dedication and courage have been truly inspiring," All Might declared, his voice carrying a note of admiration, "You provided other students insight which can improve their performance for the better, and have proven yourself to be a worthy champion, deserving of this gold medal."
As the gold medal was placed around his neck, Izuku had a mocking smile on his face, as he thought, 'Ahhh Dad giving me the gold that your prized kid should have gotten ... This is truly amazing…. don't worry Dad, just like I took the gold from your child, I'll take everything from him, I hope you will wear the same smile when I kill your prized son.' as a sinister smile formed on his face.
As the price ceremony finished, the chaos that was roaming around the city finally reached UA.
