Chapter 116 - Angel of Death

I don't know what they're doing. The girls and I stood there, looking left and right and watching two groups of tribes or countrymen slaughter each other for unknown reasons. There were people with armour and also priests with coats spamming spells at one another. Fire spells, arrow spells, barriers and defensive spells, even support spells, sharpening the weapons of their fellows.

At least a hundred of them and more incoming from either side. I felt the traces of energy that the sorcerers possessed, the knights emitted such a feeble light, and the only mana or energy they irradiated was the one of their very life.

"HAAA!!"

<3rd Tier: Fireball!>

A big ball of flames engulfed the area and crashed against the infantry, blazing up the forest, that didn't deter the opposite group from crashing in, using water spells to dry out the water, creating vapour that covered the forest.

"R-Ray-sama... I think we arrived in the wrong place" Yasaka commented.

Hasshaku-sama had already prepared her claws and Azrael grasped her scythe, they were ready, but both sides looked like they hadn't noticed us yet despite the fact we were right in the middle of everything. Maybe they think we're onlookers?

Still, the pungent aura of the place made me realise this is indeed Solution's world. Aside from the corpses of the soldiers, there are also the bloodied corpses of monsters that I have never seen. Also, there were slime cores shattered all around.

It seems that before these two parties faced each other, there was a hunting spree of monsters.

"No, this is definitely the right one, Yasaka".

The stench was nauseating; this was a battlefield. But I don't understand. I opened the gate in the exact same spot as before and back then when Amaterasu, Ophis and I went in, it was all quiet. So why are these people fighting here now?

Looking around us, there was something else that hadn't been there prior. Some sort of golden crystals protruded from the ground, all around the gate. I could feel this crystal contained a lot of energy, to be precise... sun energy?!

"THE SKIES! IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN!"

"IMPOSSIBLE!"

Somebody screamed all of a sudden and the battle came to an abrupt stop, the shout was so loud that even the girls and I looked at the skies to see what was going on. They covered their eyes at the sudden brightness, but I didn't need to. I could see it.

A shadow started covering the sun, a solar eclipse. I felt the resonance. It was as if... while it lasted, the world was fated to stop and contemplate it.

"So beautiful, Ray-sama!~" Yasaka said, placing her hands on my shoulders, she wasn't looking at the eclipse anymore, she was staring at me.

It didn't last long. I heard gulps all over when some soldiers pointed their shivering fingers to the southern end of the skies. There, there was a moon hanging up high in the skies.

"T-The moon is over there, so... w-what is covering the sun?!" Someone among them asked and I felt the urge to shrug my shoulders, how the hell am I supposed to know?

"W-Who are those people?!" Someone screamed.

Once the eclipse finished I set my gaze back at the groups, only to realise that all of them were now looking at us. The transdimensional gate had already closed. Yasaka, Kuu, Azrael and I were standing there, in the middle of the golden ores, surrounded.

'Oh shit, what are we supposed to say in this situation? I'm lucky we even speak the same language. Hmn...'

Yasaka whispered something in my ears and I nodded, it was a valid suggestion.

*cough*

"Humans, we come in peace. Take us with your leader-"

"Attack! ATTACK!"

<1st Tier: Magic Arrow!>

The mages from both sides began launching attacks at us, like... what the hell did we even do?!

I sighed and prepared to fight, but Azrael gave a step forward, scythe in hand. The Archangel swung her scythe a few times and then sliced forward.

*WHOOSH!*

With her swing, a piercing wave of light containing sun energy was released towards the incoming arrows, splitting them all mid-air, shocking the onlookers and still carrying on towards the target.

"HAAAAAA!!!"

The slash managed to strike two of the sorcerers and three knights before it sank into the soil, splitting a gnashing scar and exploding, creating a gust of wind that blew several of them away.

All that with a single swing.

Their bodies were sliced in half, their flesh burning as they screamed in a bloody mess. I was left out of words, we were left out of words.

"ATTACK THAT MONSTER WITH HIGH TIERED MAGIC!"

<3rd Tier: Fireball!>

<3rd Tier: Lightning!>

I didn't understand why they called her monster with how gorgeous she was, maybe because of her long ten wings. They kept sending spells her way, lighting up the forest in fire and lightning. Three knights rushed in, sword in hand.

Azrael kicked the floor and technically teleported next to them, flapping her wings and leaving nothing but a few scattered black feathers in the way. Her slit black eyes looked at them as if they were nothing but trash.

They didn't even see when she was right next to them.

*WHOOOSH!*

A slash was enough to slice him in half, they were like tofu, and their armours held no resistance whatsoever against that scythe. One strike was enough to slice two enemies in half. Blood splashed all over her, panting her wings in red.

Her wings flapped and slapped away the fireball spells that were just about to impact her, with a pirouette she took the head of the third fellow and smashed him against the floor, shattering the helmet and the skull inside it, leaving just a torrent of blood coming out the eye sockets.

Her ten magnificent wings flapped again and she teleported next to the sorcerers, creating two spears of light and launching them at the sorcerers.

"Castless magic!?" One of them screamed before the spear pierced his skull. Angels are quite proficient in the laws of light, she doesn't need to utter a word to use it. And now that she's a Starlight Angel, she can even use Sun Energy.

*WHOOOSHH!*

*WHOOOSHH!*

The spears pierced them and then exploded with the intensity of a ballistic missile due to the sun element that charged her attacks up with ridiculous energy, that wasn't just light. That was the nuclear fusion of a star.

*BOOOMMM!!!*

*BOOOMMM!!!*

She jumped with both her hands holding spears, her scythe levitating behind her as even her wings began creating light spears. The shine was so bright that the soldiers were unable to see what even was massacring them.

She looked like a goddess of death, I was awed and stupefied, I couldn't stop looking at her for even a second.

In this little span, and due to her light spears, there were at least a hundred casualties and a hundred more to go. She did a pirouette mid-air, like dancing ballet amidst her levitating, with plenty of style but zero mercy.

*WHOOOSHH!*

*BOOOMMM!!!*

Double kill, she switched her pose and her wings flapped accordingly.

*WHOOOSHH!*

*BOOOMMM!!!*

Triple kill, her arms extended, her breasts wiggled with every movement beneath her black dress. She kept sending those spears coated in Sun Energy like she was throwing potatoes.

*WHOOOSHH!*

*BOOOMMM!!!*

Chain kill.

"..."

Her feet landed subtly on the ground, flapping her wings in front of me and kneeling down. The battlefield was silent, not a single man was left standing.

"The enemy has been eradicated. They were projecting huge killing intent at you, so... I felt compelled to act, my lord".

"Good job, Azrael"

"I live to serve, Lord Ray".
