Chapter 166 - The D-Day II

"Don't look down on you? Do I have a choice when it comes to staring at ants?".

With a cry of contempt from the Sun God, a heatwave spread on the battlefield, Alana, Hellooth and all the adventurers behind them, all the way back to the city. Started feeling their eyes itch like salt was being poured in.

"Uhhhh!!!"

Alana fell on her knees amidst her charge, followed by Hellooth, followed by Alphonse.

Those in the murals saw their eyes grow veins as their vessels churned in pain, staring at the sun that had descended on the battlefield; eyes burned like never before.

The sorcerers at the back, who with crying itching eyes saw their companions fall in the front, panicked.

"EVERYONE CLOSE YOUR EYES!"

<3rd Tier: Fireball!>

They began casting spells in hopes of deterring the Sun God's technique, but someone detected their grave mistake: among them, Elis from the Black Tooth guild saw her man fall on his knees, close to danger... she would never give up.

She disregarded her burning eyes and led the offensive.

"FOOLS! DON'T USE FIRE SPELLS, OUR OPPONENT IS THE SUN GOD!"

Only then did they realise the foolishness of their methods. Although most of them had fireball as their highest-tiered magic, that spell would no doubt be useless against this foe.

The fireballs exploded around Ray and he only felt a bit fresher like a soft breeze that shocked the battlefield.

"USE WATER AND LIGHTNING-BASED ATTACKS! USE THE ARMATISTA!"

<3rd Tier: Waterwave!>

Elis, the mistress sorceress, led the offensive using water, ice and lightning spells. Ray frowned when he felt the chaotic energy of dozens of sorcerers cast magic using the armatista as the catalyst.

Among them, the priests also used their armatista and began casting barriers among their forces.

Alana staggered up together with Hellooth and Alphonse, a barrier covered them as they were about twenty steps away from the Sun God.

*WHOOOSH!*

When the spells were cast, light shone in the skies as water and lightning magic merged in ridiculous amounts, an attack that if it were to be released against a city, would no doubt waste that city to its foundations.

Ray watched it happen and extended his hand forward.

As the battle unfolded, he came to realise what the affinity with the elements truly meant. He didn't even need to move much against mortals who used basic elements for warfare. Three stats showcased his overwhelming superiority against mortal means.

[Space :80%]

[Sun: 100%]

[Infinity: 40%]

"When you stand before a god, what do you do? Swerve? Resist? or Kneel…?"

Ray waved his hand, and as if it had been a poof of dust, that humongous cluster of clashing energies scattered into a spatial wave, disappearing from the battlefield, leaving an eerie silence.

Knees hit the ground in disbelief, Alana first, saw Ray with eyes that couldn't believe what she was watching.

'Is this much power... possible?'.

From the beginning, he hadn't moved one step and yet all their hearts were succumbing into the abyss.

But even then, Alana, among all shocked gazes, stood up.

*BAANG!*

Her foot crashed on the sand with cracked teeth, Ray stared at her, interested... everyone else had succumbed, it didn't take a genius to tell. The armies were still alive, stratagem wasn't a commodity, and they still had a margin of action.

But? was it worth it? could this god even be defeated?

Their hearts had already acknowledged, that the person before them was a god.

Not even the most holy elementals they were capable of summoning, would be able to do what he just did.

And it was precisely for that reason that Alana stood up.

"You are the Sun God, may I know your name?" She asked, her legs shivering for the first time in her life. If that gigantic ball of energy could be scattered like dust, then so could her life at any moment.

"Are you qualified to know my name? When you are about to meet your end, what is the use of knowing my name?".

Alana clenched her sword, "If I show you that I am qualified, would you listen to me?".

Ray's eyes squinted and he smiled, "You are amusing. Let's see... four of you stand up against me. If you manage to touch me at least once, I will be merciful and let you all go. If you don't you will all perish here".

!!!

Throats dried up.

Ray put his thumb down and those who were in the process of standing felt a compelling force that made them all kneel on the ground.

"Aqua, do your thing" Ray ordered.

"Hai!~"

A mysterious girl appeared out of nowhere in front of them.

"Start with the ones at the back".

Then much to their shock, this girl started plundering the adventurers' orialchum and adamantite armour and swords with a broad smile on her face!

"Sun God, how can you be so petty?! Stealing mortal treasures, are you really a god?!" The people started to curse and cuss as the treasures they worked their whole life to obtain were plundered away by this miserable blue-haired thief.

"..." Ray stared at that person nonchalantly.

*WHOOSH!*

That person got engulfed in flames until nothing was left, and then, silence reigned the land once again.

Lessons learned, you don't go against the Sun God's decree.

"I will choose the four strongest among you all to face me. The fate of everyone here is in your hands".

Unwillingly, the bodies of four individuals floated on the battlefield until the four of them were kneeling before Ray, they stared at one another and immediately, claimed mercy.

"Please keep my wife out of this! She's pregnant with our child!" Hellooth begged, he knelt and next to him was Elis whose countenance was white, they had been chosen to fight.

On the other side was Alana who stared at her young mistress, Anna... they also had been chosen to fight, "N-Not her, not my young mistress!"

"You don't want to?" The Sun God frowned, "If you don't fight then I'll just kill everyone here as I did that fellow just now".

"Are our lives just for your amusement?!" Hellooth wanted to lounge and give this God a good punch so badly, but his body just wasn't going to move.

"You seem to misunderstand something. The Baharut Emperor Jicniv called you here, not me. As for me? I'm giving you a chance to survive" Ray waved his hand and a gigantic stone of Armatista fell on the ground, shocking them once again.

Gigantic, extremely pure.

"You said you want me to listen to you, woman. Was that just chattery?" He said to Alana whose eyes were glued to the armatista.

Four pairs of eyes stared at one another.

"C-Could we have some time to plan the offensive?"

"Half an hour. But first, I'll help you out a bit further".

"Eh?".

"Instead of hiding over there, why don't you come and play?~"

Ray extended his arm forward, nothing happened for a few moments and Alana and the rest were confused over what he was trying to do. Then, an object came flying a breakneck speed until it landed in his hand.

*BOOOMMM!!*

A lot of sand and dust exploded in everyone's faces, but when it scattered, Ray was holding something.

It was a big platinum armour that struggled in his grasp.

"I don't know who you are... but I can easily tell you are the strongest here. Being that the case what's the use in hiding? Come and face me openly".

"AHHH!!"

Lights flashed and an assortment of platinum weapons manifested around the armour, before they could attack Ray, though, he swung his arm and sent the armour flying like a rocket towards the city murals.

*BOOOMMM!!*

The murals exploded with the impact while Ray watched neutrally, he knew that armour wouldn't be destroyed by just this much. And as expected, the armour walked out of the dust with those weapons flying around it ominously.

"My name is Tsaindorcus Vaision, The Platinum Dragon Lord".

"Dragon?" Ray frowned and deep within him, two malicious purple eyes of infinity opened up.

"Sun God, I challenge you"
