Now that the Daimyo were away from their original location where they were taken to, even if Hirato denied it, others wouldn't believe him. At the time, Hirato and Zetsu would be caught, and Horyu would "save" the five Daimyo. Not only would he be a hero, but also the five biggest nations would be under his control.
Thinking all this, he touched Hashirama and Tobirama's shoulders, and used the Flying Thunder God Jutsu to arrive where Hirato and Zetsu had taken the Daimyo. The place was a dark, damp cave, deep underground. Stalactites hung from the ceiling, and the air was thick with moisture. Dim, flickering torches barely illuminated the rough stone walls.
Hashirama's eyes narrowed as he took in their surroundings. "This place is fortified. They've planned this well," he muttered, sensing the chakra barriers and traps laid out.
Tobirama, his expression serious, scanned the area. "Indeed. We need to be cautious. These traps are designed to detect and repel intruders." He paused, sensing the presence of two people. "They are deeper inside, past these barriers."
Horyu nodded. "Let's move quickly. We don't have much time." His Sharingan activated, revealing the intricate web of chakra lines and traps ahead.
As they moved deeper into the cave, the sound of dripping water echoed around them. The atmosphere grew colder, and the oppressive weight of the underground surroundings pressed on them. Hashirama, using his immense chakra control, manipulated the earth to create a path through the traps, while Tobirama's sharp instincts guided them safely.
They soon reached a large chamber where Hirato and Zetsu stood, surrounded by dark chakra. The room was dimly lit, with shadows dancing across the rough stone walls. The air was thick with tension, an ominous silence enveloping the space.
Hirato's eyes widened in shock, clearly not expecting their arrival. Zetsu's expression mirrored his surprise, a rare moment of uncertainty flickering across his usually composed demeanor. The dark chakra swirling around them pulsed with a sinister energy, casting eerie shadows that seemed to writhe and twist.
Hashirama stepped forward, his presence commanding and authoritative. "Hirato," he called out, his voice echoing in the cavernous space. "It's over. Surrender now."
Hirato's eyes darted between Hashirama, Tobirama, and Horyu, his mind racing. He wasn't sure how they knew his true identity, and the uncertainty gnawed at him. "You... How did you find us?" he stammered, trying to maintain his composure.
Tobirama's gaze was cold and piercing. "An Uzumaki with Sharingan Chakra mixed within, disgusting. I now seen your chakra, you can never hide from us," he said, his voice cutting through the tension like a blade.
Horyu remained silent, standing back and observing the scene. He watched as Hirato's expression shifted from shock to defiance. The young Uchiha could see the flicker of desperation in Hirato's eyes, the realization that his carefully laid plans were unraveling.
Hirato's eyes scanned the chakra around the cave, which sealed the space, and his gaze locked onto Tobirama, assuming it was his doing. His eyes transformed from black to Sharingan, then to the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, mirroring Madara's. Although Hashirama and Tobirama were already expecting this, they were still shocked.
"You really are Madara's successor," Hashirama sighed helplessly.
Tobirama, on the other hand, felt the urge to eliminate Hirato immediately, but he remembered the promise they made to Mito. He couldn't go too far. On the other hand, Black Zetsu's instinct was to flee. It was too early for him to reveal himself fully.
"Running already, Zetsu?" Tobirama's voice was cold, eyes narrowing at the shadowy figure attempting to merge with the surroundings. Zetsu froze, torn between fleeing and fighting.
Hirato stepped forward, a sinister grin spreading across his face. "You won't stop us," he declared, forming hand seals at blinding speed. "Infernal Devastation!"
Black flames erupted around Hirato, engulfing the cave in an instant. The intense heat radiated through the cavern, making it almost unbearable. Hashirama quickly reacted, summoning a massive wood construct to shield them from the flames.
"These flames... they're like Amaterasu," Hashirama noted, his expression grim. "But blacker and more intense."
Tobirama analyzed the situation, realizing the unique nature of the flames. "It seems he's controlling them directly," he observed, noticing how the flames responded to Hirato's will.
Hirato manipulated the flames, creating barriers and launching fireballs at them. Tobirama countered with his Water Release techniques, but the black flames wouldn't be extinguished.
Hashirama frowned, puzzled by the black flames encasing the cavern. "Madara could use Infernal Devastation, but these flames resemble Izuna's Amaterasu. How can Hirato control them? Is the affect of Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan? Then, why Madara never used it?"
Hirato's eyes gleamed with the malevolent power of his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. He raised his hand, the black flames dancing at his command. The heat intensified, causing the air to ripple. Tobirama's eyes narrowed, recognizing the gravity of the threat.
With a swift motion, Hirato hurled a wave of black fire towards the brothers. Hashirama's wooden constructs rose from the ground, forming a protective dome, but the flames clung to the wood, consuming it. Tobirama darted forward, hands a blur as he weaved signs, putting even more Chakra into his Jutsu, as his Chakra was endless in Edo Tensei form. A surge of water gushed forth, meeting the flames with a hissing roar, but to no avail. Ameterasu was unquenchable.
Tobirama's genjutsu flared into action. Darkness enveloped Hirato, a thick, impenetrable shroud. But Hirato's Mind's Eye of the Kagura pierced through the illusion, sensing Tobirama's presence behind him. He spun around, thrusting a kunai through the darkness, aiming for Tobirama's throat. The kunai met resistance as Tobirama materialized, his blade deflecting the attack with a shower of sparks.
Hirato leaped back, hands flashing through seals. Fine fire tendrils surged forward towards both Kage. Hashirama's face hardened. With a powerful sweep of his arms, massive roots erupted, entangling the fire tendrils, trying to crush them with unyielding force.
Black Zetsu, sensing an opportunity, tried to melt into the shadows, but Tobirama's sharp gaze pinned him in place. "You cannot run, Zetsu!" Tobirama's voice was icy, his hand forming seals. The ground beneath Zetsu glowed with a complex array of sealing symbols, anchoring him in place.
Hirato, unperturbed, formed new seals. "Infernal Devastation- Ameterasu, burn them to ash!" he shouted, the black flames intensifying. They coalesced into phantoms, dark shapes that moved with eerie fluidity, carrying the deadly fire towards Hashirama and Tobirama.
Hashirama reacted, summoning a colossal wooden golem, its hands clapping together to snuff out the phantom flames. The golem's wooden fists swung down, aiming for Hirato. He dodged with inhuman speed, countering with a barrage of fireballs that exploded against the golem's surface.
Tobirama, moving with lethal precision, appeared behind Hirato, his kunai aimed for a critical strike. Hirato's Sharingan predicted the move, his body twisting gracefully to avoid the blade. He countered with a high kick, but Tobirama vanished, reappearing at a safe distance, hands already forming new seals.
The cavern shook as Hashirama's golem advanced, its massive fists pounding the ground. Hirato's eyes glowed ominously. "You can't win," he declared, his voice echoing through the chaos. With a flourish, he summoned the full power of his Phantom Inferno —Madara's second Mangekyo ability— the phantoms weaving through the battlefield, setting everything ablaze.
Hashirama and Tobirama knew they had to up their game if they wanted to complete the task soon. They assumed they could easily beat Hirato, and they could, if their task wasn't catching him with minimum damage. Tobirama moved first, the darkness of his genjutsu enveloping the cavern once again, shrouding everything in pitch-black night. Hirato's Mind's Eye of the Kagura, however, pierced the illusion, sensing Tobirama's position with ease. Clicking his tongue, Tobirama realized Hirato was using Mind Eye of Kagura all the time, not to respond to his Genjutsu. He thought the last time was a fluke but turned out not.
