Deciding he had enough fun with his Demon of Flames mode, Horyu decided to end the battle. He had learned the Edo Tensei long ago from Mito. The reason why he forced Orochimaru to use it was so he could free the two reanimated souls and solve the crisis he was facing now. No matter how strong he got, he still didn't have full confidence to deal with Orochimaru and his League all alone, who had too many tricks. At worst, Orochimaru would escape, and Horyu didn't want that.
As Hashirama and Tobirama launched a coordinated assault, Horyu's Sharingan tracked their every move. Tobirama's speed and Hashirama's power were formidable, but Horyu remained focused. He had one advantage: the seals he had prepared in secret.
Hashirama's wooden tendrils shot towards Horyu, but he countered with "Shadowflame Manipulation," turning the tendrils to ash. Tobirama appeared behind him, kunai aimed at Horyu's neck, but Horyu anticipated it. With a swift movement, he blocked the attack and jumped back, creating distance.
"This ends now," Horyu said, his voice cold and resolute. He unfolded a series of complex hand seals, his chakra flaring with intensity. "Release!" he commanded, slamming his hands onto the ground.
The seals glowed brightly, and the reanimated forms of Hashirama and Tobirama began to waver. Tobirama's eyes widened in realization, but Hashirama's calm demeanor remained unshaken.
"He's freeing us," Hashirama remarked, a hint of admiration in his voice. "Impressive."
Tobirama, ever the pragmatist, attempted one last attack, but Hashirama intervened. "Enough, Tobirama. Our enemy is not him."
As the two Hokage gained control of their reanimated forms, they turned to the snake Sannin, who now looked horrified. Their souls freed from Orochimaru's control, Orochimaru's eyes widened in shock and rage. "You...!"
Hashirama's calm voice cut through the chaos. "Who dares defile the dead for such purposes?"
Tobirama's expression was stern, filled with a cold fury. "Someone who clearly has no understanding of what they've unleashed."
Horyu stood with a calm but stern expression as Hashirama and Tobirama regained control of their reanimated forms. Orochimaru, visibly shaken, tried to regain his composure, but the tables had turned dramatically. The two legendary Hokage, now free from Orochimaru's control, looked at the snake Sannin with contempt.
Orochimaru's face twisted in anger and desperation. "It's… it's impossible!" he snarled, summoning all his remaining chakra. He launched several snake-like appendages at the two Hokage, but they effortlessly evaded and countered, their movements synchronized and precise.
Hashirama created a barrier of wood, blocking Orochimaru's attacks. "It's over," he stated calmly.
Tobirama appeared behind Orochimaru in a flash, his kunai pressed against the Sannin's throat. "You can't escape now."
Orochimaru's eyes darted around, looking for any opportunity to flee. He summoned a large serpent to cover his retreat, but Hashirama's Wood Style quickly ensnared the beast, neutralizing it. Orochimaru tried to slip into the shadows, but Tobirama anticipated this, using his high-speed techniques to block every path.
Horyu watched from a distance, his transformation from the Demon of Flames mode already deactivated. He had achieved his goal; the reanimated Hokage were free, and Orochimaru was cornered.
Orochimaru made one last desperate attempt, using a hidden scroll to summon his Orochi form and explosions. The ground shook as the explosions ripped through the battlefield, creating a smokescreen. However, the Hokage remained unfazed. Hashirama's wood tendrils shot through the smoke, capturing Orochimaru and lifting him into the air.
"Your tricks are useless against us," Hashirama said, his tone stern.
Seeing the battle ended, Horyu watched the two Kage, ready to intercept any second. He knew Tobirama hated him, no matter if he was protecting the village or dying for Konoha. He was an Uchiha, and that meant untrustworthy, but Horyu was counting on Hashirama to reign in Tobirama in case the Second Hokage went mad and attacked.
"I am sorry that I had to count on two Hokage to defend the village even in their eternal rest, while it was my task. But the enemy was slippery, and I had no other option," Horyu said, his tone even but firm.
Hashirama smiled, his presence exuding warmth and understanding. "No worries. No worries. It seems like Konoha has put behind its differences between the Uchiha and the village, now that you fight so hard to protect it."
Tobirama, standing to the side with his arms crossed, snorted, his eyes boring into Horyu with clear disdain. "An Uchiha, protecting Konoha... It's hard to believe."
Horyu sighed helplessly. "It is different. It is best if you see it for yourselves, but for now, there are more enemies, and I need to go and assist the village." He paused, looking directly at Hashirama. "First Hokage, your granddaughter is at the north of Konoha, battling against a puppet master with nasty poison."
Hashirama's eyes widened in shock. "Tsuna-chan?" A smile blossomed on his face, relief mingling with determination. "Let me go and help her."
Hashirama and Tobirama moved with purpose, their presence alone a beacon of hope for the beleaguered shinobi. Horyu, confident in their abilities, turned his attention back to the chaotic battlefield. He could sense the other threats looming, each as dangerous as the last.
Activating his Shadowflame Manipulation, Horyu's form flickered and vanished, reappearing on top of Konoha's border. From his vantage point, he surveyed the battlefields.
To the south, Jiraiya clashed with Kakuzu. Three of Kakuzu's hearts were destroyed, leaving only earth and lightning. Jiraiya was a bit winded, but otherwise uninjured—proof of his Sannin status.
Horyu's gaze shifted north, where Tsunade, Kurenai, Ino, and Hinata battled against Sasori. Hiruko, Sasori's main puppet, lay in ruins. The real Sasori controlled the Third Kazekage puppet and various other puppets, attacking relentlessly. Hashirama was already moving in that direction, so Horyu decided not to interfere.
At the eastern front, the Nara Jonin were engaged with Hidan. They were in a tough spot; most had various injuries. Hidan, though roughed up, was in his ritual mode, ready to kill one of them. The Nara were keeping him from his ritual circle, but it was a matter of time before Hidan succeeded.
Just as Horyu prepared to move to assist, he noticed Deidara above, already going berserk. The lightning users had countered his every explosive, preventing him from displaying his art. Deidara had removed his shirt, revealing the grotesque "mouth" on his chest.
"Fuck," Horyu muttered. He was about to use the Flying Thunder God Jutsu to relocate Deidara away from Konoha when he noticed Tobirama already moving toward the airborne threat. Deciding the east required his immediate attention, Horyu vanished and reappeared near the Nara Jonin.
Horyu's arrival brought a brief moment of relief to the beleaguered Jonin. Hidan, however, grinned maniacally, his eyes gleaming with bloodlust.
"Another one to the slaughter," Hidan taunted, twirling his scythe with deadly precision.
Hidan's maniacal laughter echoed through the air as he brandished his scythe, blood dripping from its blade. The Nara Jonin, visibly exhausted and injured, were struggling to keep Hidan away from his ritual circle.
Without hesitation, Horyu dashed forward, his chakra sword, Chucky, gleaming with dark flames. Hidan barely had time to react before Horyu's blade sliced through his side, sending him sprawling. The immortal ninja snarled, his eyes blazing with fury.
Hidan's eyes widened as Horyu's chakra sword, Chucky, slashed at his back. The blade cut deep, causing Hidan to stumble forward. "You little—" Hidan's curse was cut off as Horyu's foot connected with his midsection, sending him crashing into a nearby building.
"You think you can defeat me? I'm immortal!" Hidan bellowed, lunging at Horyu with his scythe. But Horyu was faster. He sidestepped the attack, delivering a powerful kick to Hidan's chest that sent him crashing into the barrier.
Hidan staggered to his feet, clutching his scythe with a white-knuckled grip. "You little shit! Jashin-sama will—"
Horyu didn't give him a chance to finish. He appeared in front of Hidan in a blur of speed, his Sharingan spinning. "Shadowflame Shuriken!" He hurled shuriken infused with dark flames at Hidan, each one striking with pinpoint accuracy. Hidan screamed as the flames seared his flesh, but he continued to fight, driven by his twisted faith.
Hidan swung his scythe wildly, trying to catch Horyu off guard, but Horyu's movements were too precise, too fluid. He dodged each strike effortlessly, his eyes cold and calculating. "You're nothing but a fanatic fool," Horyu said, his voice dripping with disdain.
Hidan howled in rage, his eyes wide and wild. "You can't kill me! I'm immortal! Jashin-sama will save me!"
Horyu's expression hardened. "We'll see about that." With a swift motion, he knocked Hidan to the ground and planted his foot on the fanatic's head, pinning him down. Dark flames began to dance around Horyu, their heat intense and malevolent.
Hidan struggled, his face twisted in a mix of fear and fury. "You can't do this! I am eternal!"
Horyu's eyes glowed with a cold fire as he leaned in closer, his voice low and menacing. "Once I take you to my hell, no one can bring you back."
With that, the dark flames surged, enveloping Hidan's body. His screams echoed through the battlefield as the flames consumed him, burning hotter and fiercer than anything natural. The heat was unbearable, the light blinding. Hidan's flesh melted away, reduced to ash in moments.
