While Mito looked at the four Uzumaki, descendants of the three hopes she had sent away before sealing Uzumaki Village to protect it, Kenji's eyes were locked on Naruto and Himawari. Feeling his intense gaze, Naruto glanced at him with a nervous chuckle. "What are you looking at, Grandpa?" he asked.
Kenji staggered slightly, surprised by the question. "Do you know me?" he asked, making Naruto even more confused.
Seeing the situation, Mito chuckled softly. "Naruto, Himawari, this is your grandfather, Kushina-chan's father, Kenji," she revealed.
Naruto's eyes widened in shock. "Grandfather?" he repeated, looking between Mito and Kenji.
Himawari, equally stunned, took a step closer to Kenji. "Is it true?" she asked, her voice filled with wonder.
Kenji nodded, his eyes misting over with emotion. "Yes, it's true. You're my grandchildren," he said, his voice thick with emotion.
Naruto and Himawari both moved forward, hesitantly at first, then embracing Kenji tightly. "We thought we had no family left," Himawari whispered, tears streaming down her face.
Kenji hugged them both, his own tears falling freely. "I never thought I'd see you. This is a miracle," he said, his voice trembling.
The others watched the reunion with a mix of emotions. Nagato and Yahiko exchanged glances, their expressions softening at the sight. Konan wiped a tear from her eye, moved by the heartfelt scene.
The vibrant life within the sealed dimension contrasted sharply with the ghost town outside, providing a sense of hope and renewal.
As they walked, Naruto couldn't help but marvel at the sights. "This place is incredible. It's like a hidden paradise," he said, his voice filled with awe.
Himawari nodded in agreement. "It's beautiful. I can't believe we have a place like this."
Nagato added, "It's more than just beautiful. It's a sanctuary. We need to protect it."
Obito, his eyes thoughtful, nodded. "Agreed."
After settling down, Mito led her guests to her study, and they started to talk about the outside world. "So Horyu's aim was to take you away from the battle zone?" Mito asked after listening to their stories.
Naruto nodded. "Yes, Granma Mito."
Himawari poked her brother's side. "Be respectful."
Mito chuckled. "It's fine. He reminds me of Kushina-chan." Her eyes were reminiscing. Kenji, who was in the room too, felt the same. Although Himawari was Kushina's copy in appearance with her red hair and amethyst eyes, Naruto mirrored his mother in mannerisms. Even his verbal tics were similar to Kushina's. Although he didn't know it, Kenji felt a pang of nostalgia for that tic.
Nagato, with a thoughtful look, asked, "So my parents were sent to Rain Country in hopes of striking a deal with Hanzo?"
Mito nodded. "We were besieged by three big nations at the time, and Konoha turned its back on us. We didn't have any other choice."
Karin looked sad as she asked, "And my mother?"
Mito's face fell, sadness washing over her features. "Grass stood away from conflict, so I thought we could ensure the continuation of our blood even if there was no chance of defending. I never imagined Grass would be brutal and use Karen-chan as a living pill."
Naruto clenched his fists, anger bubbling within him. "That's awful. How could they do that?"
Kenji sighed heavily. "We were desperate, and the world is often cruel to those who are weak."
Kakashi, observing the exchange, interjected, "What matters now is that you're here. We need to focus on the present and the future."
Mito smiled warmly, her eyes filled with pride. "I'm glad to see such determination. We Uzumaki have always been resilient."
Kenji placed a reassuring hand on Naruto's shoulder. "You have the spirit of our clan, Naruto. Both of you do," he added, looking at Himawari.
Himawari's eyes sparkled with determination. "We'll do our best, Grandpa."
Rin, taking a deep breath, regained her composure. "We should start making plans. We can't just sit around and wait for the enemy to find us."
Zabuza snorted lightly. "This place was well hidden for decades. Any big movement will draw more attention. For now, we need to lay low. Horyu has his own plans." Only he, Haku, and Karin were Horyu's people. Others were there for other reasons, so he had to remind them.
Hearing him, Obito raised an eyebrow but didn't press further. Since Horyu had helped them reunite with their clan, they would listen for now. And as Zabuza said, there was no immediate danger.
Mito smiled and said, "I agree. Horyu is smart and has his own plans."
Naruto was surprised. "You know Horyu, Grandma Mito?"
Himawari rolled her eyes. "Of course she does. It was Horyu who led us here. Seriously, Big Bro, sometimes you are so foolish."
This made the group chuckle, making Naruto embarrassed.
Mito chuckled and said, "It's all fine. I trained Horyu for almost a year. And now I will teach you too. Especially Naruto-kun, Himawari-chan, and Karin-chan."
Nagato felt left out but didn't say anything, understanding his position. Kenji, noticing his expression, spoke up. "Nagato, the Uzumaki bloodline is separated into two branches. One branch inherits the Adamantine Sealing Chains and the Mind's Eye of the Kagura, while the other takes on the Uzumaki Physique. Mito-sama will train the three for those abilities, while I will be training you and Naruto-kun in physical abilities."
An understanding came to Nagato while Naruto asked, "Me too?"
Kenji smiled, visibly excited. "Naruto-kun, you are talented in both bloodlines, which is unprecedented. Not only do you have the abilities to train in the Adamantine Sealing Chains and the Mind's Eye of the Kagura, but you also possess one of the best Uzumaki Physique!"
Naruto's eyes widened in surprise. "Really? I had no idea!"
Himawari punched his arm playfully. "Well, now you know. Looks like we have a lot of training ahead."
Karin smiled, feeling a sense of belonging she hadn't felt before. "I'm ready to learn. I've always felt something was missing, and now I know what it is."
Mito's expression turned serious. "Training will be intense, but it will also bring out your true potential. Are you all prepared for that?"
Naruto nodded enthusiastically. "Absolutely! I want to be strong enough to protect everyone."
Himawari and Karin both agreed, their determination evident.
Nagato, feeling more included now, added, "I'm ready as well. It's time we reclaim our heritage and strength."
Kenji clapped his hands. "Good. We'll start tomorrow at dawn. Get some rest tonight. You'll need it."
The group dispersed, each person finding a place to rest for the night. Naruto and Himawari stayed close to Kenji, eager to learn more about their family. Karin joined them, feeling a strong connection with her new-found cousins. Nagato, Yahiko, and Konan talked quietly among themselves, discussing the implications of their new training.
As the night wore on, the village settled into a peaceful silence. The moonlight cast a gentle glow over the buildings, creating a serene atmosphere that contrasted sharply with the tension and conflict outside the sealed dimension.
At the border of the Country of Fire, a red-haired teen sat with a cloak covering most of his face. Next to him was a black figure, Zetsu. "They arrived at Uzumaki Village," Zetsu reported.
The young man clenched his fist but then sighed. "Kyubi is sealed within them. I will meet them eventually."
This figure was Namikaze Hirato, Naruto and Himawari's brother. Initially, when he was separated from his siblings, he searched for them everywhere, wanting to reunite and stand together against what he saw as the evil in Konoha. But over the years, his vision had changed. His thinking had evolved. For the world to be a better place where pain was forgotten, familial bonds were not important. He had a mission. He had to hunt down and capture all the tailed beasts. He was chosen by Uchiha Madara for a reason. Grandpa Madara taught him to cast away his emotions, and cast them away he did.
