"Why are they taking so long?" Selena pondered aloud, pacing the room nervously.
Lillian remained silent, seated on the bed, her gaze distant. In truth, she was still in a state of shock, processing the overwhelming events.
"I can't endure this any longer. I'm going to check on them," Selena declared as she approached the door.
"Wait!" Lillian finally spoke up, "Dorian asked us to stay here. I think it's wise for us to listen," she said to Selena.
Selena hesitated briefly, a mix of determination and concern etched on her face. "I don't care. I'm going to find my brother," she declared, her steps purposeful as she opened the door and ventured into the dimly lit corridor.
Lillian sighed and briefly contemplated following Selena. However, she decided against it, returning to her seat on the bed. The sense of exasperation lingered as she resigned herself to waiting.
