Chapter 49 - Tang li Sect

The sun had long since set, casting a warm orange glow over the floating island where the Tang Li Sect was situated. The disciples stood stock still, their bright orange robes rustling softly in the gentle breeze.

Standing in their thousands, the disciples of Tang Li Sect were a sight to behold. Their robes were a deep, rich orange, symbolizing their connection to the essence and their commitment to protecting it. Each of them held a bow, their fingers resting lightly on the strings as they awaited the signal to strike.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky was suddenly filled with graceful, flying figures. They weren't wearing uniforms, but instead donned smart clothes of different brands, making them look like a force to be reckoned with. Up to 1000 men strong, they flew towards the island with precision and purpose, their eyes fixed on the disciples of Tang Li Sect.

A member of the Tang Li Sect stepped forward, his voice booming and enhanced by his Qi. "Be gone, gifted ones! Live another day!" he shouted, his words echoing across the water.

Although the disciples' bows were empty, their Qi was focused and ready to strike.

The people who came were no ordinary foes. They were the Gifted, known as King Tier gifted individuals. Some were Awakened, Fallen, Imperial, Corrupted, and a few were Great King Rank Tier gifted. They moved in perfect synchrony, their powers surging as they approached the island.

The words hung in the air like a challenge, a gauntlet thrown down to test the mettle of their foes. But the gifted army did not take kindly to this defiance and charged towards the barrier that surrounded the island.

Arrow after arrow flew towards the Gifted, each one imbued with enough Qi to level a mountain. Yet, the Gifted proved equal to the task, intercepting and deflecting the incoming projectiles with ease.

They continued their assault while the Gifted defended with their aspect abilities, Fire raged across the surface of the island, consuming everything in its path. Water crashed down from above, threatening to engulf the disciples beneath its torrent. Air currents buffeted the barrier, testing its limits. Ice shards pierced the earth, leaving behind frozen tunnels. Earth tremors shook the foundations of the island, causing cracks to appear in the once-solid stone.

Despite the chaos that surrounded them, the Tang Li disciples held firm, their resolve unshaken. They pushed back against the attackers, it became apparent that their efforts were for naught. The gifted army was simply too strong, their powers too vast to be contained.

The rain of arrows fell in their millions, the desciples were able to push them back, their movements fluid and calculated. Despite their best efforts, the Gifted army managed to reach the barrier surrounding the island, their powers undiminished.

Faced with the imposing barrier, the disciples stopped shooting arrows and stood ready, their swords drawn. The man who had spoken earlier approached the barrier, his eyes fixed intently on the gifted ones. "You can't cross the barrier. Turn around, and by the goddess Nexara, the goddess of essence we will let you leave," he declared, his voice firm and commanding.

As the man who had spoken before approached the barrier, he did so with a sense of determination in his steps. His eyes remained fixed on the Gifted individuals on the other side, his gaze unwavering as he addressed them once more.

The Gifted individuals, however, showed no signs of intimidation or fear. Instead, they began to transform, their bodies contorting and twisting until they took on entirely new forms. These were not terrifying or grotesque creatures, but rather strange and alien beings that seemed to defy explanation.

One individual transformed into a creature resembling a giant, iridescent butterfly, its wings fluttering gently as it hovered just above the ground.

Another became a towering, humanoid figure with skin like polished marble and hair that flowed like liquid silver.

A third transformed into a being that seemed to be made entirely of shifting, ethereal lights, its form constantly shifting and morphing like a living, breathing aurora borealis.

A Gifted body burst into flames as she transformed into a fiery avatar. Her skin gleamed like molten lava, her hair streaming behind her like wildfire. She wielded a staff made of pure flame, its tip crackling with sparks.

Next, there was the Gifted, who transformed into a serpentine creature with scales that shimmered like the surface of a lake. Her body rippled and flowed like water, her long tail swishing back and forth as she moved. She could control the tides and summon waves at will.

Another transformed into a winged creature, his body feathered and light as a bird. His wings beat rapidly as he hovered above the ground, his eyes piercing the distance as if he could see for miles.

Some Gifted transformed into a frosty apparition, body encased in a shell of glittering ice and hair hung like icicles, with eyes flashing like diamonds. They could conjure snowstorms and summon glaciers with a mere thought.

The leader transformed into a lush, verdant creature, her body covered in leaves and vines. Her arms ended in thick, thorny branches, her fingers tipped with sharp spikes. She could control plants and summon tendrils to bind her enemies.

As these creatures approached the barrier, they did so with a fluid grace that belied their alien appearance. The soldiers of Tang Li watched in amazement as the creatures seemingly passed through the barrier without effort, their movements unhindered by the physical obstacle.

The Desciples of Tang Li, however, were not so easily deterred. With a swiftness born of training and discipline, they drew their swords in perfect synchronization, their blades glinting in the fading light of day. Their movements were smooth and practiced, each strike executed with precision and deadly intent.

The battle raged on, the Gifted individuals using their powers to devastating effect. The Fire Aspects Gifted unleashed waves of flame that engulfed the disciples, the Water Aspects Gifted summoned torrents of water that swept them away, and the Air created maelstroms of wind that knocked them off balance. Conjured up walls of ice blocked their path, and the Vines ensnared them and ripped them apart.

One by one, the inner and outer disciples fell, when the Tang Li army was almost down to their last man, the core disciples joined the battle, showcasing their mastery of Qi and unleashing devastating attacks upon the Gifted individuals.

Some even used the Fourth Stage Qi State, which granted them increased power, control, and durability. Their skin glowed red as they fought, their movements lightning-fast and deadly precise.

The battle was intense and brutal, with both sides trading powerful blows and leveling mountains neither gaining the upper hand. But gradually, the Core Disciples began to gain the advantage, their superior skill and training proving too much for the Gifted individuals to handle.

After what felt like an eternity, the Core Disciples emerged victorious, having defeated the Gifted individuals and secured victory for Tang Li. But their celebration was short-lived, as they sensed the presence of another group of people approaching the barrier.

The core disciples felt a sudden surge of pressure, as if a mountain was bearing down on them. The Gifted that stepped out of the barrier were corrupted demon's rank.

The air was thick with tension as the four Gifted individuals faced off against the Tang Li army.

The first Gifted, a tall and imposing figure, had black flames dancing around him like ethereal serpents, casting eerie shadows on the ground. His eyes burned with an intense fire, as if fueled by a deep-seated anger. The second Gifted, a muscular man with a stoic expression, stood with his arms crossed, his eyes fixed on the enemy with a piercing gaze. The third Gifted, a woman with long, flowing blue hair, wore a VR headset and held a controller in each hand, her fingers moving deftly as she manipulated the virtual world around her. She was completely absorbed in her game.

The fourth Gifted, a youthful figure with blonde hair, stood confidently, his feet shoulder-width apart. He conjured a weapon from thin air, a stormbreaker that crackled with electricity and pulsed with a brilliant white light. The air around him seemed to grow darker, as if the very sky itself was being drained of color. Suddenly, massive bolts of lightning streaked across the horizon, illuminating the landscape.
