Chapter 1
He managed to cross the wall successfully, but a few guards caught sight of him. Luckily, he was lightning-fast, and they couldn't catch up with him. He ran like the wind until there was no one left behind. The streets were deserted, not even a cat or dog in sight.
"Wow, it was easier than I thought! Those guards were as dumb as rocks, and that jerk didn't even bat an eye. Probably sleeping like a log. Anyway, I've got what I wanted."
He thought he had made a clean escape, but suddenly, someone appeared in front of him, holding a gun. "Surrender, or I'll shoot!" she warned him. But he didn't care and kept moving forward.
Suddenly, a searing wave of pain shot through his right shoulder. It was too late. She had already shot him. The intense pain made it impossible for him to hold onto the stolen bag, and it fell to the ground. Without wasting a moment, Olivia kicked the bag away, just as the guards arrived.
"He approached her with a menacing presence, his head bowed in a threatening manner. As he slowly raised his head, a chilling sight awaited her. His face was concealed behind a mysterious mask, leaving only his captivating amber eyes visible. The rarity of such eyes in America struck her, for she had never encountered anyone with such a mesmerizing gaze.
A surge of fear coursed through her veins as he locked eyes with her, his gaze filled with pure hatred. It became clear that her actions had cost him his only chance to escape. Time seemed to stand still as she stood frozen, seizing the moment.
In an instant, his left hand struck her with force, causing her gun to slip from her grasp and clatter to the ground. With a sinister grin, he whispered, 'You will pay for this, you cunning fox.'
As if swallowed by the shadows, he vanished into the darkness of the streets, leaving her helpless. The authorities were unable to apprehend him, as if he were a ghost.
