After cleaning up the auction house in Area 1, Majors and the others redirected their focus and swept through all the auction houses of Sabaody Archipelago, both large and small.
For a while, the entire Sabaody Archipelago was in turmoil, and everything appeared desolate. A significant number of slaves were rescued, and even the deep night couldn't conceal the exposed crimes.
However, the purge did not stop.
"Report to Colonel Majors! Areas 1 to 10 have been cleared, 12 human trafficking dens have been destroyed, and a total of 800 rescued people have been counted! (A/N:I made up the numbers, everyone can just take a look)"
Majors was a little surprised. He didn't expect that there were so many slaves in areas 1 to 10. Moreover, these were probably just recently collected, and there were likely countless others who had been trafficked before.
"What are the casualties?"
"There were no casualties among the Marines, but many of the rescued people were injured and disabled, and more than a thousand criminals were killed!"
More than a thousand people!
Behind the seemingly small numbers are corpses that could form a mountain.
That night, blood flowed freely, and almost everyone who witnessed the scene was terrified, making it likely they would find it difficult to sleep for many nights to come. The atmosphere of the entire Sabaody Archipelago was shaken, whether individuals were engaged in criminal activities or planning to do so. Fear trembled through everyone, causing them to abandon any thoughts of participating in the illicit trade.
"Just in time. Let's begin sweeping areas 11 to 29 now!"
The Marines have about 2,500 troops in the Sabaody Archipelago, but it's impossible to dispatch all of them. Therefore, they can only assign patrols and a main force for the attack to maximize the results of the battle.
...
Boom, boom, boom!
"Open the door! We are Marines, and we suspect you are harboring pirates!"
"Is there any mistake? We are nobles. Where do you Marines get the authority to review us?"
The owner of the house seemed very impatient and was evidently dissatisfied with the Marines' behavior. He made it clear that he intended to rely on his status as a noble and would not cooperate with the Marines' actions.
Boom!
Without any hesitation, Majors led the Marines to break through the door and roughly pushed aside two aristocratic-looking couples. A pair of sharp eyes began to patrol the room.
"What are you doing? Who allowed you to do this? I am a noble from a country that is part of the World Government!"
The woman reacted as if a cat's tail had been stepped on; her piercing scream resonated, and her entire face twisted in anger.
They are genuine aristocrats from a country that has joined the World Government. Having heard that the scenery of the Sabaody Archipelago is exceptionally beautiful, they spent a considerable amount of money to travel here. Perhaps, by establishing relationships with the world's aristocrats and pleasing the Celestial Dragons, they hoped to escape the current situation of domestic political marginalization.
"Who is he?"
Ignoring the woman's howl, Majors pointed at the boy with the bomb collar in the living room and asked.
The boy appeared very thin, with big, dull eyes. He had been on the verge of falling asleep in the living room when Marine's movement woke him up. He looked at the serious-looking Majors without any desire to survive.
"He is the slave we bought!"
The nobleman spoke, maintaining his composure unlike the woman, and responded to Majors' question in a calm tone.
"Really?" Majors said with a cruel smile, "Where's the identification?"
"What identification do slaves need?"
The noble man was stunned.
"No identification? That's easy to handle. We, Marines, have to take you in for verification to prevent pirates from infiltrating."
"Hey! Do you know what you're talking about? We are nobles with legal rights!"
The nobleman couldn't stand it any longer. This was the slave he had bought just recently, and they were all pure Baileys. For the nobles, slaves were a symbol of status. It was the only possession they owned. The slave hadn't had the chance to showcase his status yet, and the nobleman couldn't just let the Marines take him away like this.
"Remember!" Majors looked at the couple with a solemn expression, and his tone was calm, "I am informing you, not discussing. Otherwise..."
"I believe it would be deemed reasonable for two nobles to perish under a pirate attack... Hahahaha!"
It's not that Majors is excessively arrogant and cruel, but after this night, he has witnessed too much darkness. These so-called nobles are just beasts in human skin. There's no need to be overly concerned about such matters. In any case, if the sky were to fall, there would still be strong individuals to support it.
"You..."
In the face of Majors' threat, the nobleman knew he had no choice but to glare at Majors, as if attempting to etch his appearance into memory.
"Jiiiiiii~"
Majors, unaffected by the aristocrat's hostile expression, remained steadfast. After witnessing countless people with similar expressions throughout the night, he was confident that Vice Admiral Atlas would support him if things went awry.
"Hey! You, over there, it's time to leave!"
"Majors turned to look at the somewhat sluggish slave boy. It seemed that his brain had not turned around for a while. The guy was stunned in place, with no intention of moving."
"well..."
The boy finally came to his senses and understood that the assertive Marine in front of him was here to rescue him. He pointed helplessly at the explosive collar around his neck.
"Oh! I almost forgot!"
Majors slapped his forehead, as if annoyed. He then turned to the noble couple next to him with a cold expression, extending his calloused palms.
"Um?"
The aristocratic man's expression turned sour, but recalling Majors' earlier threat, he reluctantly handed over the remote control from his arms.
Snap!
Majors crushed the remote control in his hand, and the shattered pieces slipped from his grasp.
The slave boy couldn't comprehend why, but his eyes welled up with tears. It felt as if a shackle in his heart had been broken. Perhaps... this was freedom.
"May I have your name?"
"That doesn't matter anymore. From now on, my name will be Elbis!"
Elbis's face now radiated with a mixture of anger and a newfound glimmer in his eyes. For him, this could very well be the beginning of a new life.
"Alright! Let's move quickly. We still have inspection tasks to complete later."
Majors uttered these words and prepared to lead a group of Marines outside.
"Sir!"
"Huh? Is something wrong?"
"Are the Marine still hiring?"
"Marine is highly dangerous. Are you certain you can withstand it?"
"Of course, I just came out of hell..."
"Give me a reason?"
"Because... I saw justice!"
In Elbis's eyes, a glimmer of hope emerged, as if he had glimpsed a beautiful conviction.
"...Okay, report to the base tomorrow!"
The figures of the boy and the Marine vanished into the darkness as the questions and answers continued.
