Aron kept on drinking his beer as Lyon asked a question.
"So, my friend Aron, what kind of a pathtaker are you?"
Aron took a deep breath and then started thinking.
He wondered if, if he were to not answer, that would be a problem or not. In the end, people always wanted to create problems.
"Especially a young man with some power in his hands..."
Lylon was not a fool; after seeing that, Aron paused for some time and added on.
"Hey, if you do not want to answer, you can choose not to. I know that it is not a common occurrence for people you just met to ask about your problems."
Aron smiled and nodded.
"Thank you for being understanding."
Lylon nodded, and at that time, his hand mistakenly hit the beer cub and spilled some of it on the table.
" Lyon laughed a little and then commented.
"I am silly as always."
After he commented, he whispered, looking at the beer spilled on the table.
"Clean"
With his whisper, a water ball manifested and then circled the table with ease. Aron did not forget to look at and inspect it.
The only person who looked was not Aron; other people who were eating and drinking in the inn looked at the water ball cleaning the table too.
The young maid came running and then started talking."
"Miisteri, please do not make it hard; I can clean it with ease; you don't need to do anything."
Lylon turned to look at Aron and then added.
"This is what I was trying to say; if you were the one to spill it, they would not be like this."
Aron gave out a cold breath and started to understand what Lylon was trying to say.
He wants to be treated without prejudice or forethought about himself by others.
It is a simple wish, but hard. Aron compared what Lylon feels to the people who are celebrities on Earth.
He believed that they would feel the same as they were treated differently because of their fame; in the case of Lylon, he was treated with fake respect and sometimes fear because of his identity as a mage, which is a hard thing to take on.
"I get you."
Aron said his words and then got up from his table. He was really tired from all the things he experienced, not to mention running.
After he drank his beers and ate a lot of food, drowsiness started his feeling.
He wanted to go to his room and have a good night's sleep without getting disturbed.
"Where are you going, my friend?"
Lylon asked.
Aron this time looked at Lylon and thought.
"He is asking too many questions and talking too much."
But he still answered nonetheless.
"I am going to sleep."
After saying his words, Aaron just kept on walking without waiting for Lylon to ask.
He was scared that this man was going to open a new topic and keep on talking, and he did not want to talk anymore.
--
Aron went to the upstairs and entered his room.
He is going to stay in this place for one week. He looked and inspected his room.
It was simple but good enough: one table, two chairs, and a wooden bed with clean sheets, which is a rare thing to see in this world.
A separate room for toilet and bath, a bucket of clean water, and a window to see the entrance.
Aron nodded and then lay down on the bed.
He noticed that the clothes he was wearing were not too good.
He made a mental note in his mind to look for clothes to buy tomorrow and then closed his eyes to enter deep sleep.
-
Lylon, who was at the inn still drinking, stopped to drink for a second. Two men came in front of him and started talking.
"Mister Mage, we are from the Red Fire Guards, as you can see. The Red Fire Guard Commander wants to see you on the matter of a murder."
Lylon stopped for a second and then asked.
"Why would your commander want to see me?"
The guard with the big beard answered quickly, trying to be on the good side of Lylon.
"It is not something bad, Mister Mage; we need your help on this case of murder, as we believe it was done by a pathtaker."
Lylon then nodded.
"Now that is something I can do."
Lylon then took a sip of his almost-finished beer and asked.
"How much is the Red Fire Town willing to pay for me to solve and investigate this murder?"
The guards looked at each other and then answered.
"I believe it would be around two hundred Aiwa coins; our town does not want a pathtaker murderer to start a killing spree."
"Two hundred you say, let me take a look; bring me to the murder scene."
Lylon said his words and left with the guards without further talk.
