The air in the Elliot Building was saturated with the unique scent of ink, parchment, and ancient tomes.

There needs to be mutual trust between people. However, before I came, Professor Brunk, who led the course, had already set attendance as 10% of the final grade. So, this semester, I will symbolically call the roll once, and I will delete everyone's previous attendance records, letting the attendance record start anew."
Lanci shifted his gaze from the ancient books to the student roster beside him, reviewing the attendance results from earlier in the semester.
Seeing that some students had already had points deducted for attendance, he felt somewhat reluctant to dock them a point or two.
