Just as Chen Yang was about to return the way he had come, bundled up in his coat, he suddenly realized he hadn't finished surveying all of the research station. The station had more than a dozen buildings and took up a significant amount of land... maybe the object or reason causing the cube anomaly was here.
Stimulated by this thought, Chen Yang turned around and started walking towards the section of the camp he hadn't visited yet.
The buildings the former Soviet Union had constructed were fairly rudimentary due to the level of technology at the time. Many of the buildings were transported to Antarctica as finished products and then assembled on-site. They were quick to construct and didn't require too much effort. However, they were rather simple and not easy to add additional equipment to. So, they could quickly become obsolete.
