At dawn, Chen Yang was planning on heading to the noodle shop. Then, reminiscing about the events of yesterday, he suddenly flopped back onto his bed. Given his current situation, why would he still go to the noodle shop?
Lying back on the bed, Chen Yang decided to seize this chance to have some more sleep, taking advantage of the fact that his Right Hand hadn't awakened yet. If he could rest a bit longer, he'd do so.
An hour later, his sleep was interrupted by the ringing of his phone. Groggily taking the call, Chen Yang, listening to the delivery man's voice, became puzzled. When did he order anything?
The confusion didn't last for long. The next moment, Chen Yang remembered that his online bank account was nearly emptied by the Right Hand. It must have been used to purchase some items.
At this thought, Chen Yang was so scared that he immediately leapt out of bed. If the extraterrestrial creature's purchased items got lost or damaged by him, he couldn't bear to imagine how gruesome his fate would be.
To receive the delivery, he needed to step out of the alley. No delivery person would willingly enter this complicated area. Chen Yang threw on a shirt and slipped into a pair of slippers. Like a gust of wind, he rushed out onto the main road where a delivery truck was parked.
What the heck, Chen Yang wondered with disbelief, What had the Right Hand gotten with 15,000? Such a huge box?
Indeed, the size of the box could fit a refrigerator, clearly demonstrating its large volume.
The delivery man seemed worried too. He flipped open the back of the truck and peered inside at the box, hesitating. "Sir, I suggest you find a few more helpers. One person would not be able to carry it."
"Yeah, I'll sign for it first."
The delivery man handed Chen Yang the receipt, then took out his phone to call the other recipients to pick up their deliveries.
"The signature is done."
He handed the receipt back to the delivery man.
"Finished signing?"
The delivery man hung up his phone, took the receipt and glanced upward, his eyes nearly popping out in shock.
Due to his astonishment, his mouth hung open and his eyes reflected disbelief.
Indeed, the box was so heavy that it took their delivery team of four to lift it onto the truck. Yet this young man, donning a white shirt and beach shorts, with worn-out slippers on his feet—looking rudderless—easily lifted the box with his bare hands, pulling it out from the back of the truck.
You've got to be kidding!
It took four strong men a considerable effort to move that thing, and now one person can move it?
No, looking at him, he seems not even breaking a sweat. Was he hallucinating?
The delivery man blinked, confirming it was not his imagination, felt his mind go blank. Damn, he had come across a dark horse.
Chen Yang did not notice the delivery man's surprise. The onset of his powerful strength came so quickly that he hadn't adjusted to it yet. He only felt that the box, though large in volume, wasn't that heavy.
So he carried the whole box back to his basement rather easily. He walked hundreds of meters without even breaking a sweat.
Although curious about what the Right Hand had purchased, without its permission, Chen Yang did not dare to open the box and check out the goodies inside.
"What the hell could this large box worth over 15,000 possibly contain?"
In the midst of his puzzlement, Chen Yang received another call from the delivery service to pick up a package.
Apparently, it wasn't just this one box that had been purchased.
Within a short span, Chen Yang was back carrying a smaller box into the basement. The box was reinforced and protected by wood. In between, there were many layers of protective padding.
This was just the beginning, in the following couple of hours, Chen Yang carried another five big boxes back and piled them up inside the basement, forming quite a spectacle.
"All this stuff... what the hell does it want to do?"
Suddenly, Chen Yang felt uneasy. He had a sense of guilt as if all of humanity was pointing at him behind his back, accusing him of betraying beloved Earth.
"Haha, well, I might be worrying too much. Who says aliens have to be evil? Maybe they came with the intent to form a friendly relationship."
That's the only way Chen Yang could console himself. After all, even if the alien parasitizing him did have malicious intentions toward Earth's humans, what could he do? Being a hero wasn't an easy role to fill.
While he was lost in thought, his Right Hand had unknowingly regained consciousness.
"Has everything arrived yet?"
Still maintaining the same image, the same taste, Chen Yang was slightly startled but didn't feel the fear from the day before yesterday. "Officer Ross, you finally woke up. I don't know if I missed anything, could you check these things over once more?"
His Right Hand extended a few meters out and inspected the seven large boxes, ensuring they weren't damaged. Satisfied, it said, "Good. Everything seems to be here. Just not sure if anything is damaged on the inside."
While saying this, Right Hand suddenly morphed into several dozen tentacles and began unboxing each box.
Looking at the opened boxes, Chen Yang was a bit puzzled. Inside were a mix of various items. He quickly scanned over to see gears, DC motors, beakers, graduated cylinders, thermometers, drugs, various types of metal, and many other items.
With all these complex items, trying to figure out what Right Hand planned to do was incredibly difficult.
"Starting now, host, you must completely obey my orders and instructions. What I ask for must be done without error, otherwise..."
Right Hand's speech apparatus opened wide, chilliing Chen Yang to the core.
"I understand, I will obey your commands!"
Chen Yang solemnly swore, with seriousness surpassing that of a soldier.
"Actually, if you completely obey my orders, I wouldn't mind rewarding you a bit."
Right Hand turned in circles, looking at Chen Yang from above. "In your human terms, we're now stuck together like two grasshoppers, neither of us can survive without the other. You should already understand my initial wish. I have no interest in your human civilization; everything is just for the completion of my plan."
"Once I complete my plan, I will naturally leave and, by then, you will be liberated."
"Really?"
Chen Yang's spirit lifted, nearly brought to tears. Was there really a day when he could be free?
"I never lie. Complete my plan, and you could not only become a top-tier entity among your species but also obtain liberation and freedom."
Right Hand's words didn't seem deceitful. Chen Yang was extremely excited. He dreamt of not being tormented by this thing anymore. Who would want to be slapped when drinking water? Or be subjected to the pain of being sliced and burned when making a slight mistake? The saddest part being, he couldn't even use his right hand to wipe after using the restroom, or else he'd get another beating!
God, wiping his own ass was a significant part of life, but he couldn't use his right hand and had to resort to his left. It was a highly embarrassing and uncomfortable circumstance!
"Now, there's something very important that you need to do, it's vital to our survival. If anything goes wrong, not only will I be destroyed, but you will definitely lose your life as well!"
Before Chen Yang could sufficiently enjoy his happiness, Right Hand's words following quickly thereafter gave him quite a fright.
"Wha-What is it?"
Cold sweat began to pour down Chen Yang's forehead.
"Host, first you need to understand the universe's vastness and the variety of life. It's beyond your human comprehension. My body structure isn't like your human individual structure, but rather made up of four separate components. They interact with each other through electric brain waves."
"Four separate components?"
Chen Yang couldn't imagine what that scenario would be like.
"Generally, despite my four components being separated, they normally operate within a few dozen meter range from each other, hence only one component develops consciousness to take control, which is the current me."
"However, if an accident were to occur causing the four components to separate from each other, to survive, if too much time passes, the other three components would develop their own consciousness. Each trying their best to ensure survival, but it could also cause a disaster."
This revelation from Right Hand amazed Chen Yang. He hadn't imagined the creature inhabiting his right hand could be so extraordinary.
