As everyone's attention was intensely focused, the photonic film hovering in midair shimmered with rippling hues of blue light. Suddenly, with a "thud", an object burst through the film and smashed into the ground, sending out a resonating vibration.
If this was a group of recruits, they might have impulsively pulled the trigger at such an abrupt event, but luckily for those present, none of them hadn't been seasoned by real battle. They instinctively followed their training and directed their guns at the fallen object without firing hastily.
Triggering gunfire at an unknown risk is a mistake reserved for novices.
"What... what is this thing?"
When everyone's shock wore off and they focused their sights along with their tactical flashlights on the fallen object, they were simultaneously filled with disbelief.
