As expected, it wasn't long before the iron door was pulled open, and two people walked in. Zhang Ziwen looked up. Damn, old acquaintances again! Wasn't this the female officer who interrogated him this morning? The other was Little Flat Head, who had arrested him. It's a small world after all. Who would've thought this policewoman worked in this police station.
Zhang Ziwen sighed inwardly. To be honest, he really didn't want to see her because he knew sooner or later she would start being difficult again.
The policewoman, Wu Min, still looked beautiful in her uniform, she glanced at Zhang Ziwen when she sat down. Her beautiful eyes widened when she saw him, then quickly looked away with a flash of contempt. It seems that she had a really bad impression of him. Well, Zhang Ziwen didn't care because he didn't like her either.
"Name?" Her tone was as cold as it had been in the morning, devoid of any warmth.
Damn, thought Zhang Ziwen, annoyed. She was deliberately putting him on the spot, wasn't she?
"Name....." she drawled in repetition. She was getting impatient by the sounds of it.
"Zhang..... Zi..... Wen!" Zhang Ziwen deliberately dragged out each syllable, mimicking her.
"Address?" She glared at him, obviously not pleased with his attitude.
"Why are you asking if you already know?"
"Address!"
"Haven't I told you before?"
"Thump!" The policewoman, Wu Min, slapped the table. "Zhang Ziwen, behave yourself. Stop giving me this attitude." Wu was obviously not in a good mood today.
"Wu Min, stop using that tone with me. Let me tell you, it doesn't impress me one bit. You can leave now, I told you I didn't want to see you again."
Zhang Ziwen was not one to be pushed around. His temper flared up, matching hers. His patience reached its limit. If it weren't for the fact that she was a woman, swear words would have already spilled from his lips.
Upon hearing him address her by name, Wu Min was surprised. When he disrespected her, she immediately stood up, her beautiful face turned deadly pale, her body faintly trembled, and her eyebrows furrowed in anger.
Little Flat Head, the one who arrested Zhang Ziwen, noticed the change in Wu Min's expression. Hearing Zhang Ziwen call her by name, he was confused about their relationship, so he gently nudged Wu Min and asked, "Inspector Wu, do you know him?"
After his question, Wu Min must have thought her reaction was a bit uncalled for, and reluctantly sat down, huffed and said, "Who knows this hoodlum? I am baffled by all this nonsense."
Then her cute face blushed slightly. Wu Min remembered the time he had ogled her chest, so she figured that's how he learned her name from her badge.
Upon hearing her calling him a punk, Zhang Ziwen scoffed, "Indeed, who knows who, with your manner...and your looks...Heh heh..."
After saying this, Zhang Ziwen shook his head and sneered. His face was full of disdain and disgust, completely over the top.
Anyone would know that nothing good came after his disparaging words about her appearance, especially that tone and exaggerated expression, which were clearly offensive. No woman can stand such remarks, especially a beautiful woman who is very confident about her looks.
Zhang Ziwen's words may have been particularly harsh. Anyone could tell just by looking at Wu Min's facial expression, which was slightly distorted with rage. Zhang Ziwen didn't feel guilty though. On the contrary, he took a little pleasure in this slight retaliation.
"Inspector Wu...Inspector Wu." Little Flat Head noticed Wu Min's pale face and called her gently twice. Seeing that she had no reaction, he nudged her gently and said, "Inspector Wu, your face looks pale. Why don't you go downstairs and rest for a while? Let me question this kid."
Wu Min, pulled back to reality by his nudge, said, "....what did you say? You're questioning him? No, I'm alright. I'll be the one to question him. I don't believe this." After saying this, she took a few deep breaths, obviously upset by Zhang Ziwen's words.
Wu Min pointed at the computer, instructing Little Flat Head to print something. After a while, Little Flat Head seemed to have found the information Wu Min requested, and the sound of the printer rang out in the interrogation room.
While the documents were being printed, Wu Min asked a question again, "Zhang Ziwen, I won't ask anything else at the moment, what happened tonight?" From her voice, it was clear she was suppressing her emotions.
With an unconcerned tone, Zhang Ziwen replied, "What if I told you it's all a misunderstanding, would you believe me?"
In his mind, he thought, you'd probably only believe it in your dreams.
Just as he suspected, Wu Min sneered and responded, "Do you think I would believe that?" Realizing that Zhang Ziwen wasn't sticking to the point, she added sharply, "Right now, I am the one questioning you. You just need to answer me honestly."
Zhang Ziwen shrugged his shoulders and commented, "Well, I've got nothing more to say. It's a misunderstanding, but you don't believe me. Do whatever you want, I don't care to explain."
This time, the lady cop wasn't provoked by Zhang Ziwen's indifference, she responded coldly, "Humph, Zhang Ziwen, don't think acting innocent will get you off the hook. Do you comprehend the severity of your actions? Two of our colleagues sustained multiple fractures, one even suffered a broken sternum. You're ruthless."
Zhang Ziwen retorted, "How was I to know they were cops? They swarmed out of the car dressed in plain clothes, trying to nab me. There wasn't 'police' written on their foreheads. Didn't they see I was busy handling those thugs? Can the blame be on me for this?"
After speaking, Zhang Ziwen glanced at Little Flat Head, "Tell me, did you show any proof of identity when you charged at me? Did you show your police badge?"
Little Flat Head was taken aback, surprised by Zhang Ziwen's sudden pointing of the finger at him. At the time they had merely been driving past, seeing Zhang Ziwen in an all-out brawl with several people lying around, they had tried to apprehend him without showing their badges. Recalling the event, Little Flat Head didn't know what to say.
Seeing Little Flat Head's hesitation, Wu Min speculated that what Zhang Ziwen was saying was likely true. But her subordinate had been seriously hurt by Zhang Ziwen, can she just let him go scot-free?
Wu Min knocked on the table and asked: "Stop avoiding the question. What happened earlier with those thugs? What was that all about?" She wanted to find any inconsistencies in his altercation with the thugs.
Zhang Ziwen quickly understood this beautiful lady cop's intention, he sneered inside, thinking - I didn't expect you, with your angelic face, would have such a venomous heart. You're trying to trick me, but you won't succeed.
Zhang Ziwen chuckled and said, "It's simple. I was just trying to help a damsel in distress, show some good Samaritan spirit. Shouldn't the government be giving me an Outstanding Citizen award or something?"
"Stop joking around. Do you think we are oblivious to your background? You've got a criminal past."
"....Criminal record? You must be mistaken."
"Humph, it's like you won't cry until you see the coffin."
"Then elaborate, stop trying to fool me."
"Fine, you're having trouble recalling it, right? Listen carefully."
"I'm all ears..." Zhang Ziwen carried an air of nonchalance.
Wu Min received a stack of documents from Little Flat Head, which were just printed out. The computer was connected to the record room, so it was easy to look up an individual's information. All of Zhang Ziwen's files should be in there. Given they had let him go earlier in the evening, they must have a clear grasp of his background.
Holding the documents, Wu Min smirked and said, "Zhang Ziwen, all the documents I hold are about you. Listen carefully and let's see if you still dare to deny your criminal past."
Zhang Ziwen glanced at the documents in Wu Min's hand and thought- I haven't stolen or robbed; are you going to frame me for something I haven't done? He strongly doubted it.
Zhang Ziwen dismissively retorted: "Go on, reading. I'm all ears."
You'll see, you can't keep that tough act up for long; Wu Min found his demeanor infuriating.
"Zhang Ziwen, male, Han ethnicity, unmarried, native of Zhonghai City, completed high school, 23 years old - no, it's your birthday today, you're 24 now." Wu Min corrected his age, shooting him a spiteful glance while Zhang Ziwen choked on his fuming anger.
Wu Min continued to read his record, "Your parents passed away while you were in junior high. You were taken care of by your cousin, He Li, who helped you finish high school. You currently live at Unit 2, Building 3, No. 8, 4th Floor, Xianghe Li, An'nan Road, Zhonghai City. This property was left to you by your deceased parents. Is all of this information correct?" she asked.
"Right, continue." Zhang Ziwen thought, wow, she knows a lot – even about my cousin supporting me.
"Upon your high school graduation, you enlisted in the navy, specifically North Sea Fleet 37107 Troop. You completed three months of basic training and six months of specialist training on an isolated island; your military unit was the artillery. During these six months, you heavily focused on the 25mm and 37mm guns and displayed exceptional skills.
Wu Min glanced at him disdainfully, thinking, with your delinquent looks, you manage to excel? She didn't seem convinced.
Zhang Ziwen didn't notice her contemptuous look. He was lost in his memories of his time in the military.

Sometimes I wonder, if I ever get arrested for writing some explicit novel, will a beautiful lady cop interrogate me? If so, I'd surely not mind experiencing that once.
