The force was so great that the wooden door in his hand splintered apart with a crash, with fragments scattering on the floor. The geisha lying on the ground, like a fly smashed dead, had long ceased to struggle. Her face twisted in agony as blood pooled around her.
"Faye, Wendy, Maeve, are you all okay? Are you hurt?" Yves King tossed the 'weapon' onto the woman's body, then hurried over to his family. He turned each of the women around, carefully checking them over, and then examined Maeve from head to toe. Only when he saw that they were truly unharmed did he feel at ease.
"We're fine," Faye Owen quickly responded, seeing the worry on Yves King's face. She then added, "Yves King, go help Miss Leah. She got injured while protecting us."
Wendy Quay, feeling slightly relieved when Yves King came over, placed Maeve in a corner and crouched down, shielding Maeve's view while comforting her, startled by the ordeal.
