Swirling it around and freezing her face, she said, "The man wears a Patek Philippe watch—he's loaded. Charge him for the broken bar stand and the spilled drinks."

The guards went stiff. They were creatures of the wind, and recognizing the domineering air of Baby Cade, they knew she was one not to be provoked. When they saw her police badge, who would dare challenge her?

To the bar, a mere cop surely meant nothing, but from their life experiences, they knew a cop who could tote a gun off-duty, swaggering about like a despot likely held substantial background. Naturally, few dared to provoke.
