Without waiting for Yves King to ask, baby Cade hung up the phone angrily. Yves was left bewildered by the woman's unusual thought processes; her actions were so nonsensical.
Oh well, he thought, resigned to drowning his sorrows in drink alone. As he was aimlessly preparing some snacks for himself at the market, and drinking while watching television, his phone rang again. Surprisingly, it was from Secretary Cooper.
"Hehe, how come Secretary Cooper has time amongst her busy schedule to call me?" Yves King answered the phone, chuckling.
"Yves King, you owe me a meal," Mabel Cooper's voice sounded firm, carrying an authority that brooked no denial. Clearly, she was still in work mode. With a modulated tone, she added, "Principal Wactor has been officially sentenced by the court for corruption, bribery, and various other charges. I'm afraid he won't be getting out for ten or eight years. But you don't seem too concerned— you didn't even bother to follow the case."
