More than a dozen open-top jeeps were parked under a two-story building. The training ground was filled with the rapid sounds of shouting and slogans. Squads of soldiers in uniform were going through various drills, instilling a strong sense of military life.
This made Yves King begin to miss his life with the Frontier Wolves, and perhaps Hector Gordon was nostalgic too, as the training grounds were just like the old days. This only spurred a flood of memories for him of artillery fire, jungles, killing, and wounds, all playing through his mind like a film reel.
