Jerry sounded nonchalant, but inside he was taken aback. He had originally thought that Venom was just good at covert attacks, but he didn't expect her combat power to rival Tom, leaving him helpless.
However, more than half the battle had already passed, and Venom was already showing signs of exhaustion. Tom's job was to drain Venom's energy, after which Jerry would come in and easily take over.
