Seeing his reluctant expression, Faye Owen felt a slight inexplicable joy. However, she felt it was somewhat detrimental to her dignity. Furrowing her eyebrows, she sneered, "What now, is it that much of a pain to pick up an old neighbor's child for me? You don't want to do it?"
Wendy Quay was afraid that Faye might provoke Yves King's stubborn temper which could lead to conflict and affect their relationship. She quickly stood up, waving her hands, "Faye, no, no need for Yves to trouble himself. I can take the bus to pick up Maeve, I've always done it this way." While speaking, she sneakily glanced at Yves, fearing he would be upset.
Yves saw her sincere and scared look, which inexplicably tugged at his heart. He admitted his past temper wasn't great, often lashing out, casting a significant psychological shadow on her. Sigh, past is past. He was indeed in the wrong before and had deeply hurt her.
