Faye Owen's lips parted slightly as she tried to rectify the slip of her tongue and restore the state of mutual misunderstanding between them. Although this was primarily driven by a selfish motive, doing so would at least safeguard her marriage to Yves King. Besides, with her wit, it wouldn't be too difficult to accomplish this.
However, no matter how much she mulled over it, she couldn't bring herself to voice her thoughts.
After all, she too was a woman of self-esteem. If she had to resort to such tactics to hold on to her marriage and husband, what did it all mean for her? Moreover, if her husband, Yves King, was willing to abandon her for Wendy Quay under such circumstances, then what value held such a husband for her?
